  • @Chrille , I admit to being careless.  Plus my vision isn't all that hot even for the vast majority of the time where I am paying attention.  Your advice boils down to, "never do a stupid thing."  That is an extremely high standard which none of us …
  • The store gump clearly has a fundamental weakness.  At the bare minimum, when spending more than, say, 100,000 gp, a requester could come up and ask, "Do you really want to spend 50,000,000 gp on 500 items?"  An even better design is what I mentione…
  • ... to add insult to injury, my trash barrel declares, "This item has no turn-in value for Clean Up Britannia."
  • Okay, thanks.  Well, at the rate he has been gaining from just unraveling, he should be over 90 skill in 15 days or so.  He does some actual imbuing as well, but hasn't focused on training that way.  Some of the properties he would really like to im…
  • Bushdo, Chiv, Necro, Spirit Speak, and many other skills can be bought to 40 in New Haven.  Plus they each have an accelerated skill gain quest to get to 50.  Buy skill(s) to 40, accept quest(s), and go to Old Haven (east of town) where the accelera…
  • @Gone_Fishin Be aware that using any Necro spell costs karma, while the efficacy of Chiv spells depends on karma.  Classic sampire builds get away with this because the main thing they use Necro for is to get into vampire form, with almost everythin…
  • The base skills you list are pretty good, but I note that you have Focus yet nothing is using mana, except perhaps archery special moves.  It is my understanding that metal armor has a side effect nowadays that offers stamina regen.  It's sort…
  • Three years ago I was in your shoes.  I came back to the game after being gone a LONG time.  I decided basically to start over.  Even though I had well developed (but out of date) characters on Baja and Atlantc, I basically started from scratch on O…
  • @WornOutYourTool I thought there was more benefit for a necromancer from negative karma.  But checking the Necromancy page, you are absolutely correct.  Plus I'm not one to care about titles, so being "Dread Lord" is not a benefit to me.
  • Thank you for info, guys.
  • @TimSt Oops!  You are absolutely correct.  New characters can choose their starting city.  I did not realize that those colored blobs were there to select a city. @Theo I don't mind the quick skill gain quests.  You can be on multiple ones at the sa…
  • #Tim Yep, that worked.   Thank you.  I should have thought of that myself.  I've just never gone to vertical ones before, so only thing I've used the resize arrow for was to change number of boxes.
  • #Tim , thank you for the additional info.  It sure sounds like I need to start using this capability.  BTW, I know you cannot edit the post, but your link has a typo.  It is missing the colon between "https" and "//".  I'll repost the whole thing: h…
  • #Arroth_Thaiel Thanks!  It works as you described.  Since I never used an Organizer Agent before, it took me a minute to figure out that one sets up agents from Agent Settings item of the Main Menu.  I knew about the Organizer button at the top of c…
  • King_Greg said: Rock said: Without Eval Int, taking Anatomy won't give you very much defense ... As an archer tamer mage he should have a bow in his hands at just about all times, so his block chance will come from archery.  Duh…
  • Without Eval Int, taking Anatomy won't give you very much defense ( d = (eval + anat + 20) /2 ).  So if you want defense against physical, go with wrestling.  With eval, it is a different story, though.  Anatomy is better in that case, IMO.  Only ad…
  • I have no problem with the Trammel moongates moving within city limits.  But with Felucca, the original shard, leave them in their original locations.

  • #TimSt the risk is intentional.  Of course the design dates back to before Trammel existed, and anywhere outside a city was dangerous.  As it was supposed to be.  Felucca maintains that design philosophy.  Sorry if I sound unsympathetic, but keeping…

  • Currently his Mysticism is 81.7 and Focus 100.0.... I'm embarrassed to say that I forgot that Enchant was a necessary condition for non-channeling weapons to remain armed.  In the words of the late, great, Rosanne Rosanna Danna, "Never mind."
  • Merus, I hadn't considered Cartography.  So with JoAT in the other skills mentioned, 40 Cartography would actually add to his capability.  I like it.   Besides, since he is also a scribe, it is a good thematic fit.
  • I ran some tests on Test Center.  TLDR: Devs really don't like Wrestling.  Wrestling at best is good for  the Disarm special move.  But that is available on some weapons as well.  Mages, take 100 anatomy instead of 120 Wrestling.  You'll have the sa…
  • Merus said: Honestly, with some soul stones you can have it all.  Though, I wouldn't worry about Mystic/Focus... your most powerful offense is an RC which can't be cast if you have a pet.... Merus, thank you for the numerous ideas.  You …
  • Urge, thank you for the feedback and idea.  Now I wish it were possible to change the title of this thread to add "vs bard tamer" at end.  You didn't mention peacemaking.  Is that not a good alternative to discord?
  • Urge said:  For the low low price of $12.99 you can go right back to everything you're used to!  That is in the back of my mind.  I've got two accounts already, and the question is: will I be active enough to justify a third account?  …
  • Thank you Mariah and Chrille.  He can fully access bank now.  Being a vet might have actually made this harder.  I've been accessing the UO Bank for over 2 decades, and I'm very used to how it works normally.  Free player access threw me off, and I …
  • #Mariah, Thank you; I overlooked that.  Is there something else that I missed, allowing the character to remove one of his 20 items from the bank?
  • Seconded, and adding the same request for tinkered goods.  Normally they don't use a lot of ingots or wood in their fabrication, but it would still be nice to get half of their raw materials back.

  • I guess there could be a bug.  Note though that stealth is weight-sensitive.  It might not matter at 100 skill, but in general the more you are carrying the harder it is to stealth.
  • I second Arroth_Thaiel's suggestions.  UOGuide has a nice table of carpentry items, including any secondary skills that might be needed to make a give item.  Take special note of his suggestion to make the character a Gargoyle.  One of the benefits …
  • Popps, I would not build a mage character reliant on a mage weapon for defense.  The point was, there is benefit.  Also, would bearing item(s) with +magery counteract the -magery from a mage weapon? Just for completion, there is a -10 mage weapon.  …
