Which town were you battling in?

Also to note the spawn scales with the number of players present.
I concur with everything Keven has said.

The spawn is dreadfully inadequate on Atlantic.   I did two potion runs today, one during a Jhelom invasion and other during a Skara invasion - each yielded less than 20 drops during the full hour.  That was with constant fighting, switching between Tram and Fel side every fifteen minutes or so.  Just absolutely abyssmal.  Of all previous dynamic events, the only time I pulled less than 20 drops when using a potion of Glorious Fortune was if I was dying again and again (like when fighting off raiders in Fel).

It's safe to say we were better off before the corpse/lag fix that was put in. So please consider some additional adjustments, specifically to turn up the  spawn and drop rate.

Bad towns: Vesper, Skara, Jhelom, Nujelm

Good towns: Moonglow, Britain, Trinsic, Yew

    What about Minoc?

Best two iteration personally would be Yew with undead gargoyle and Vesper with LichLord

PS: having a vice n virtue happening during an invasion was meh :pensive:
So rather than recognise the effort the botters went to, to set all that up - for the benefit of the players, to help get certain items, something you could never be bothered to do, you would rather drag people backwards to your neanderthal world?

    Based on my drop rates.

Awful towns, <10 drops an hour:

    Vesper, Skara, Jhelom, Britain

Barely acceptable, capable of >10 drops an hour:
    Moonglow, Trinsic, Yew, Minoc, Nujelm

Lag all day on Atlantic was AWFUL in most towns, worse than it has been all week.

I had a few successful runs today (40+ drops with potion) in Moonglow and Britain.  And another awful (less than 20 drops) run in Skara.

I didn't have any lag issues, even at prime time.  This is shaping up mostly to be a city issue. Brit, Trinsic, Moonglow are great, Yew is good, Vesper is okay... but Skara, Jhelom, Nujelm are abysmal.

@Kyronix - Have you given any thought to bumping up the spawns in certain towns? Or maybe have a vote to remove or severely limit the times it's in Nujelm/Jhelom/Vesper??

I get more drops in Vesper than any town.  No thanks.  Nothing is wrong with the other two on non Atlantic Shards.

Mob HP also needs a BOOST. They get one-shot killed. Not enough meat for everyone.

    suggestion:
Lich v1 (normal) - hp too low for event
    Lich v2 (normal x 5hp) - use for event
Lich v3 (paragon of v1) - use for event

This way you wont have issues with EVERY paragons being too strong (...or not). But the current mobs have too low HP.

The low HP Mobs are good.  We need paragons with a little more fame.

This system is point based.  When you hit the required points for a drop, every mob you kill after that gives a chance for the drop.  The chance starts low and gets higher after each unsuccessful drop chance. So each easy mob tics that drop chance.

    The last event:
A para rune beetle would be enough for a drop points.
I'd kill one, then run around and kill easy mobs. You'd get a drop soon.  Repeat.
Focus on what you can do, not what you can't.

This may seem obvious, but you can combine two approaches to please more of the people more of the time.
    1. Have several (say 3) cities active at one.  Pick these based on load balancing across server lines.
    2. Each of the active cities has it's own "difficulty level".  e.g. spawn rate, density, and makeup of mobs.  Adding skeletal dragons, ancient liches, rotting corpses, etc should happen for the more difficult city.

Britain, Moonglow, Yew could be at the top tier (most difficult).

Perhaps @Kyronix already thought something along the same lines, and is busy implementing the change in time for the holiday.

I dont think keeping the spawn the same and increasing the HP is going to help. Fairly certain the drops are based off quantity of kills which is why the bot trains run around killing non-paragon stuff instead of staying to kill it.

The spawn just needs a major bump (on ATL) and in particular the towns listed in this thread. For Nujelm/Jhelom/Vesper/Skara (on ATL) the mobs need to be tripled... every other town I'd say doubled.

@Kyronix - Can you at least make the invasion feel like one? Currently on ATL, the poor invaders are just walking right into a buzz saw with the only real threat to dying is from the bot trains dragging over a couple paragons that end up targeting us. Outside of that the mobs all get mowed down as soon as the poke their heads out.

EDIT** The spawn is in Skara right now. Please come check it out. It's horrible. Everything is dead as soon as it spawns because there are so many people crammed into the town. 100+ accounts need more spawn.

Here is Glow which is semi decent for the spawn.... still not enough spawn. It's prime time and the spawn is in "full swing" and there still isn't enough to go around. I took this screenshot with 12 people in it that aren't even moving... this isn't counting the handful that are running around trying to kill stuff. This is a more spread out spot too... near the maze it's jam packed with 20+ toons. Everything dies as soon as it spawns.

    The House of Horrors.

Shard Bound should be lifted for CANNOT be transfered on ATL (or any other problematic shard med/high pop).. so u can take all your stuff to a better shard.

Meanwhile returning players like me were HEAVILY push toward ATL.. 2 gear shard bound for sale that was not from sailor event on my shard..

I need to play the theme gated game on Legends as it was a sandbox.

@Kyronix - Currently 5:30pm EST on ATL in Moonglow (one of the better places for the invasion) and I can't get more than one spell off before everything is gone (killed). There are literally DOZENS of people just posted at the campfire (maybe there maybe not) with their archers or throwers spamming AI at anything that comes on screen. I can't cast a spell or hit them with a sampire before they are killed.

PLEASE DOUBLE OR TRIPLE THE SPAWN ON ATL IN ALL TOWNS (at least for prime time); WE NEED IT!!

Mmm I don't know about that given that the last several ToT events were NOT in Fel after several people like myself pleaded for it; why suddenly switch to wanting people to go to Fel?

That said, that's fine if they want people to go to Fel and I've gone there a couple times but there isn't enough spawn there either...so why go risk something in Fel when it appears to be the same drop rate in Tram? I'm all for the more risk / more reward aspect but it currently isn't there for Fel (and hasn't been for a very long time for ToT).

Just figured I'd share this which is happening right now in Skara where the spawn still isn't even close to being enough to be considered an invasion.

Accounts literally just camping the spawn points with wraith archers spread around it. They aren't even trying to hide it anymore because there is no repercussion; these toons have names that are just numbers like "DPS Seven". I saw the DPS 1-6 camped at another spawn point and all they do is spam AI at whatever spawns.

All you (or a GM) needs to do is take 25 seconds out of your day the next time you are online at any ATL invasion town to see this garbage. Again, I don't expect you to action these accounts because they make you money, but please stop letting these accounts impact legit players that aren't cheating or being greedy. I understand you don't want to make a knee jerk reaction but these greedy multiboxers have been doing the same crap for every single ToT for years...

I've run around Skara for 20minutes and I've only been able to get 3 drops (no luck potion). It's getting to the point where it seems like you are forcing people to pay to win while trying to compete with the bots for drops.

Naw, that was just Kyronix hoping/wishing he could just turn on Fel guard zones and move on to his next task without having to do anything else, not a design goal anyone had in mind before this started.
