Now that we've gotten a 3rd client with all the bells and whistles players have been asking for....

The web client is a very bad idea and is again a typical UO "mistake".. always new modes, new clients, etc. I will never use any browser client, it's silly. Just massively update the 2D client which we know is very doable and drop all the extra stuff. The team spreads too thin this way.

You can turn the web client into an app.  It plays just like a stand alone client.

It saves macros on the cloud.  You can make a mage profile and any mage you use can access that profile.

Looks like you need to learn how to use it, Mr game devoloper.

The last thing the team should have done is added another client. Just upgrade the 2D client. This game needs to be more accessible, not less. It's on top of everything, bad marketing and terrible usability.

And dude, what is your problem with "Mr.Game Developer"? I am in fact a founder and CTO as well. You realize plenty people exist that hold jobs and positions that apparently make you so envious? As if this is some sort of extraordinary claim. Take your childish jealously elsewhere.

As if installing it as an app solves getting my specific macros from UOAssist and the standard 2D client into it?

This is a signature bad "another client" move. UO should go on Steam instead of adding support for yet another client. As if things aren't confusing enough for new players and as if the team isn't spread thin enough as it is.

Cuts need to be made and consolidation needs to take place, if anything.

  • If they won't ban paid accounts even for constant blatant public cheating then it seems like the TOS is functionally no longer in effect. As far as I'm concerned everything is legal now. That isn't an editorial opinion on my part, just an observation of ground-level reality.

Sorry for your misery.  That client is gonna stay.  It was not created by Broadsword, it is not updated by Broadsword.  They paid nothing for it.  You can go to it's discord channel and ask for someone to teach you how to use it.  Or go there once you know how to use it and ask for the macros, abilities, etc that you want added.  There is a lot better chance they will add what you want to it than any upgrades to CC or EC.  They have added quit a few things I asked for and fix bugs that we find.

Sorry for your poor reading comprehension.  I am far from envious of a game developer that does not know how to use a simple UI and complains about it before even trying to use it.  And does not know how to turn a web client like that into an App.

    1. Broadsword doesn't need to be updating it for it to cause extra work and issues. I think the team has a tendency to spread itself to thin and this is something that happened throughout UO's history. Feel free to disagree. You don't get anything about the marketing and accessibility issues I see.

    2. You just love to make things up? Why would I not know how to "turn it into an app"? I reject the entire concept for reasons I stated. UO should end up on Steam with an enhanced 2D client, not again countless options that confuse players even more than this old and deep game already does. Where did I say I don't know how to use it? I don't want to put in the effort to use it and re-create my old stuff in it, end of story.

Now, please, take your arrogance and assumptions elsewhere.

Can we ban Pincos for having art hacks that aren’t allowed in the web client and conditional and if macros please.

Broadsword did not make CUO. Some players that love UO and know how to program made it.  Broadsword has spent no money on it, and no money or resources from Broadsword are used by this client being upgraded.

There is nothing to disagree with.   It is not extra work for Broadsword.

So rather than recognise the effort the botters went to, to set all that up - for the benefit of the players, to help get certain items, something you could never be bothered to do, you would rather drag people backwards to your neanderthal world?

Leave attended paying accounts alone, these people go thru a lot of trouble to play/automate the game.

Wow writing them an email once every 3 moths is sooo much work.

I wonder how many bugs did not get fixed during that time. :D

  • CUO is the only usable UO client. I'll quit before I ever download CC/EC again.

It's common sense that it adds complexity if your game is being accessed by another client which can result in work for you. @KroDuK thx for the example.
