@MortusCucumbus, I have never actually saved my journal. I'll test it out in the next few days to see what is and isn't saved. I saw no obvious filtering options, but it is quite possible I don't know enough about it.
-
@Pawain, as you probably saw, the first option was, "Do nothing." I don't think that is a bad option at all. However, if Imbuing did actively buff the character in some manner, the OP mentioned ways it might do that. Note that I have several advent…

InLor said: ... To reveal him you need legendary detect hidden skill. Once you detect it, it will move and hide again. You need to do this three times, it then appears and you can fight it. ... Minor nit -- I don't think there are power sc…

If I understand what you want, then we already do, at least in the EC: main menu --> user settings -> options tab --> save journal to file

@Mariah, thank you for acknowledging you saw this. @Margrette , thank you for the suggestions. I do have a treasure hunter / fisherman on Baja, although I have not created one on the new shards I've added since coming back. Relating to my new Imbue…

@Margrette , your experience is different from mine. Is your report current, or remembered from past years? One possibility is that originally there was a decent quantity of weak magical loot. As new publishes were released, the average power in l…

I like this suggestion and voted yes. It has a weakness, though, in that it depends on the craftsman having a high level of Magery. Probably most dedicated craftsmen do, especially if one of their skills is Carpentry. But not all. Perhaps broaden …

@Outcast, ack! The way the first line is indented in our posts, I missed that the template was for a ranged fighter. Sorry. Your non-maxed Bushido also allows foe honoring and subsequent perfection. If brought up 10 more, to 90, a Samurai can tame…

@Outcast, interesting base for a warrior template. I understand it all except the odd choice of Chivalry at 95. So close to GM ... Maybe that is where Enemy of One gains 100% chance of success? Here is how I would use the remaining teamplate poi…

I'm glad other people have noticed! I think another change is that sheep are slightly larger, and, when unshorn, "fluffier". Other animals might have changed a bit as well, but I've been sheering a lot of sheep, and they stand out to me.

@Mariah, heh, this time I did check the official Wiki, looking at its Magery Spells page. It seems I did not look deep enough.

How about a compromise approach -- many (all the) shards, one world? Every beast and evil creature, living and undead, move to a combined world, but the shards remain populated with players. I.e., if you want to adventure, you take a portal to the …

@MissE and @InLor , I like both your ideas. I'd like to be clear on what I said about shard merging. I see it as a possibility that I personally would have no problem with. I'm pretty sure the devs won't actually do it, though, and that is fine as…

@Margrette If you had houses on 3 closed down shards, you could place them on another shard. Obviously you have multiple accounts, and, as far as I know, nothing says someone with multiple accounts cannot have two (or) more houses on the same shard…

I voted no to the "starting over" part, not the shard merger part. Low population servers could be merged without necessitating that characters start from scratch. I'm not talking about mass mergers, but for argument's sake, choose the 3 lowest po…

@Drowy, I like both your ideas.

(This is in reply to the "Any ideas on how to fix the dead economy?" thread by @crunchynasty. @Kyronix suggested we post ideas in this thread.) One major cause of a weak and dead economy is too few players on most shards. External to the game itsel…

Thank you for your detailed and knowledgeable breakdown, @Basara.

@Basara, I agree that Tailoring could use some help. My guess concerning the New Haven design is that they just ran out of time, and it had to go live "as is" and incomplete. The designers probably thought, "We'll complete it later." For some reason…

One way to help a lot of templates would be to allow skill level in primary skills to assist secondary skill level. Consider the Samarai build in the OP's list (#4 of question 1). The primary skills are Swords (just to choose one), Parry, and Heal…

On TC1 in Britain, I believe there are several gates you can walk into. One puts EJ limitations upon your character, and another removes them. I can't remember what the other gates did. I didn't try it, so I don't know if EJ storage limits are re…

Coming back from the Yew Court and Prison complex, I found this: Hovering the mouse over him, it shows his title as "Master of Guardians. Clicking him to find out if he is buying or selling anything, the chat box displays: It's covered with treas…

@Petra_Fyde, a video is worth 10,000 words. Thank you. I sure don't remember it being this complicated, either by teleporting as @Margrette suggests or lockpicking a prisoner's cell as you show. My human character went to town and picked up 25 lo…

Good luck! I'm a returning player who came back a month ago after not playing since 2010. Your rules can get you up to and through the grand master level (100 in main skills). Being a 7x GM was considered the epitome for an experienced character. …

@Margrett, that picture is excellent, thanks. Now the problem is getting outside. There appears to be no way to get to the outside of the prison island unless you get there by boat (or rune). I followed all around the stone hallways and the priso…

@Mariah, thank you for the link, and all the Ultima wiki links you have been providing. You are obviously proud to share this uo.com online data with us, and with good reason. If I might make one suggestion, though, it would be to add a search box…

@Mariah and @Feigr, I don't even want to think of how long I've spent looking at the UO screen and never noticed the "Distance: x" text. Thank you for being willing to state the obvious (well, to everyone who actually sees what's in front of them, …
-
@Feigr, thank you for the distance tip. I do use the EC, but I cannot find "target window" in the ACTIONS gump. Do you mean something from in there? Must be over 100 choices. Could you give me the category, and an actual name, such as "Cursor Ta…

No UO video library would be complete without the in-house ads done for Samurai Empire. EA didn't want to spend money on promotion, so the staff did some of the funniest and most compelling video promotions I've ever seen. Beware the Ninja! Found…

Note: this post is from a recent returnee who has been trying to learn as much about skills and professions as he can. YMMV; mine sure does. If I understand the defense from Eval+Anatomy, the melee defense your guy will have is (110+30+20)/2 = 80 w…
