I have a necro mage with spellweaving and he does fine without actually using any of the necro spells on this one. He has actual 110 Magery and eval taken to 120 with jewelry, and 110 spellweaving. He uses EV, earthquake and wildfire to kill as mu…

Worked last night sometimes slowly and other times really fast. Kind of like playing the lottery. Try it when you take a break from whatever you are doing. It’s usually up at some point during the night.

I think part of the problem with this game is that it is designed to be played by players playing together as a team. If you had a question or needed help the designers planned on someone in your team helping you out. Think that might have worked …

VS is unstable being up and down several times a night. I search it every night I play for items I need or can resell at a profit. If it is not working when I log on, I will try it again an hour or so later when I take a break. Sooner or later I …

By the way, asking the question here as a discussion post works quite well too.

When I started three years ago, I did not have a mentor and had the same problem your new player is having. The answer is to search the internet. There is no single source. The in game help as a rule gives you background information that helps yo…

I have to go to the journal too. I think that is normal. I use EC. I don’t get the main chat channel for some reason but based on what I hear about what goes on, on that channel not getting it might be a blessing.

For newer players like myself it is one of the few ways to make enough gold to buy what I need. Usually what I can buy with the gold is of a lot more use to me than any of the rewards. Don’t get 5 million though, more like one million on my shard. …

Yes, will third that. Simply too much of that kind of thing in this game. Sorry UO.
-
It’s a pretty small room. Just a comment. Have not been there for awhile and don’t plan on going there soon.

Allowing buyers to buy items on the search screen would be helpful. Currently you can search the backpack but you can’t buy the item from the search screen. You have to go back to the vendor’s backpack to buy it.
-
EC vendor’s backpacks are easy to navigate. Some sellers make them difficult to find things in by not saying what kind of items are in the containers in the vendor’s backpack but that’s not the games fault. Sorry about the update problem, but EC d…

Lots of discussion over something that is most likely working as the original programmers of UO intended it to work. If you lose hard to obtain resources you may have a legitimate complaint. But otherwise, RNG is working as designed. I do a lot o…

It’s an older player base. Not necessarily players that stopped playing voluntarily. Many long time players do have multiple accounts.

Yes, understand OCD quite well really that’s why I keep asking about it. At 95 can pick a trove in about 30 seconds. OCD vs logic on this one with neither being being able to win over the other.

After reading the recent discussions about idocs and house placement don’t think the developers would agree. They could have easily provided some insights into those issues that might have at least explained to those of us interested in them what t…

Also, don’t see any benefit from taking lockpicking over 90. If you know of one please let me know. Think once you reach 90 the probability of opening any chest does not change enough, assuming it does change, to make the 10 point investment worth…
-
That’s just the way it works. 17 attempts seems a little excessive but in the Yew prison when the skill level for all the locks was very easy for me it was the same, some locks opened on the first attempt and others took a surprising large number o…

Have to agree a better solution for all involved would be to just offset the house or the bridge so that they are separated from each other. You can’t cross the river midstream. You have to ride, not really that far, to the other end of it. Not …

Thanks been really wondering about that.

Hate to ask but what is 120 MR? By the way like the Atlantic prices alot better than the prices on my shard.

Rorschach said: Some posts have been removed due to ToS violations. Glad you are following this discussion. Would you consider providing a clarification of the issue raised in this discussion and the related closed discussions preceding …

Maybe if hoard chests had a chance of a of having a 115 scroll and trove a 120. I would go to fel for that that. As is, i do those chests there once in a while but really the 110 and 105 scrolls I get are mostly hardly worth the effort. On my sha…

That looks like the existing Trinsic bridge. Game should not allow houses to be built that block access to the bridges. Not a problem for mages but for others it blocks the bridge.

Think this discussion has drifted a little from the original post. But as one of the few actual new players starting a few years ago can and still playing can only say that it is UO itself that supports third party sellers. There is no way a new pl…

Think marking runes was disabled to make it more of a challenge. Makes treasure hunting a real pain.
-
Have a recall macro that uses a book with a default rune. I use EC but that should not make a difference.
-
But if you cast recall on the book it should go to the default location. Runes in the book look the same before and after selecting the default rune.
-
They were working fine for me few days ago. I use the EC and have been doing cache and hoard maps. Will probably dig one tonight or tomorrow. My maps look normal but they are old fairly old so that might make a difference.

New method leaves it up to chance as to what you get. Everyone has an equal chance of getting something good. Much better for my player. Under old method my player was lucky to get anything. Don’t do many idocs or care much about them. Game has…
