Ultima Online NAMING Policy for in game characters....
Is the Naming Policy for in game characters listed here still valid ?

This, particularly where it says :
Yet, even though I have reported this several times, I keep seeing that character name appear in General Chat.
And no, do not ask what this character name is and on what Shard because I am not going to say it (naming and shaming is not allowed).

This, particularly where it says :
"4. Any name that is defamatory or attempts to defame the reputation of another account holder, an employee of Electronics Arts, property of Electronic Arts or Electronic Arts itself. The use of derogatory, defamatory or offensive content in conjunction with names of famous or important historical, political or religious figures."The reason I am asking, is that, on a Shard I play sometimes, I have seen a character writing in General Chat with a name which, at least to my opinion, should be considered in violation of the above provision.
Yet, even though I have reported this several times, I keep seeing that character name appear in General Chat.
And no, do not ask what this character name is and on what Shard because I am not going to say it (naming and shaming is not allowed).

Do it when they talk in chat and you can choose the account info.
If GoldMan was not allowed they will probably change theirs.
That person said give the items to "their char name there" someone paged on them and they came in chat with a new name a little later raging at me.
I didn't page on them.
@popps did you explain WHY it offends you? You did not mention that part.
Also you can bait someone into announcing they made the name to offend someone.
We got a guy to explain why he was putting bag balls in the star room. To block players. He did not do it again. The GM can see chat logs.
I had a friend name his necro Knee Krow Ownage and he got paged on and had to change it because someone said it sounded too much like Negro, yet I see characters with names MUCH worse still running around.
You say how you function in the real world? You mean the real world that makes an online game change the name of a champ boss because after 24 years it's offensive??
The real world where Aunt Jemima syrup had to change the name? The real world were now the ACE commercials no longer say *Ace is the place with the helpful hardware man* and now say *Ace is the place with the helpful hardware FOLK* because saying MAN is gender bias??
Yes there are some very offensive names in this game.
Sometimes, a name can be offensive for a number of reasons be them gender, racial, political etc. etc. if they are "just" names, why then, do Multiplayer Games, usually, have policies and restrictions about what names players could name their characters, if I may ask ?
Never be afraid to challenge the status quo
The resolution has already been given, if you want to be like Pawain then page on the person and if you still see their name obviously the GM didn't think it was against the rules. If you want to do like 90% of everyone else does, just ignore them literally by using the ignore option in the game and carry on with your life.
Honestly if you are offended by names/RNG/luck/(insert other locked popps thread)/pixels then maybe you shouldn't play the game because you're on here every day with some other new complaint about how a 25 year old game isn't working how you think it should.
@Mariah - I think we can safely assume this is yet another troll thread created to kill time and you can lock it since his question has been answered.
ESRB warning: Some Blood. LOTS of Alcohol. Some Violence. LOTS of Bugs
Just an example. Cute? Yes....offensive? To some maybe. This one is a tame one compared to others I've seen. Like I said my friends char named KNEE CROW OWNAGE had to change his name because he got paged on...this name? Same thing.
According to French sociologist Antoine Buéno, Gargamel is suggestive of a stereotype of a Jew,[5] having a big nose, magic powers, love of gold, and keeping a Mezuzah by the door of his hut (clearly identifiyable in several panels of the comic).
In addition, Gargamel's cat Azrael’s name in Hebrew actually means “God is my helper” (in Israel he is called “Hathattul” which is composed of the Hebrew words `Hat` - which is fear in Hebrew, and `hatul` - cat; literally meaning "fearsome cat"). In both Jewish and Muslim tradition, Azrael is the name of the angel of death. In addition to that, it was a Jewish name, so it could be used as an injoke for Delporte's Jewish wife.[6][7]
On the other hand, the name "Gargamel" is not a Jewish name but taken from Rabelais' classic Gargantua and Pantagruel, where Gargamelle is the mother of Gargantua and a giant, which is appropriate since Gargamel is a giant compared to the Smurfs. The name was suggested by Yvan Delporte. Azrael was also suggested by Delporte, who considered "angel of death" an appropriate name for the would-be killer of Smurfs, and he also liked the rhyme with Gargamel.
Some people need to put down the pipe and stop watching cartoons! LOL Gotta love how "woke" people have to find something wrong with everything. It's a frickin cartoon people - get laid and get over it.
