GamersNexus put out video about Discord's Disturbing Ties to Global Surveillance. Its an interesting watch.

I know its to late to influence the UO team to not use it. I for one am not a fan of discord, even before watching the video, which can be found on GamersNexus youtube feed.

Thanks to everyone for all the information about UO on this site and forums. So many of your posts helped my UO game play.

    Hmm... Discord = New ICQ?  :#

    I find Discord to be extremely clunky and tough to navigate. Unless you live on it all day long, there is too much cross talk in General to keep up. 

     I'll be hanging around Stratics for those that want to find me.

    True. Impossible to just do a quick check and find info. It reminds me of X how fast the subject can change.

    I can't see myself ever going back there again unless Taylor gets it back. The JC incident did it for me there.

    I have given Jeff Besos much advice thru her.  I doubt he can do some of the things I have told him to do.

    It says they’ll use existing posts and information to determine your age or you can use your id or facial recognition. Pretty sure eveone in the gubment and a lot of public companies we deal with every day already have that along with DNA samples. No way to deny it unless you’ve lived in a cave for the last 50 years and today is your first day on the interwebs.

    That's my main problem with it. I'm in my fifties, i know it'll flag me as a teenager and limit my content!

    Then show you’re face and move on, it’s not like your face isn’t documented and filed in all the databases already anyway

    We've had facial recognition cameras for years and years. Especially the border patrol check point on I10 west Texas. 

    Most states are putting AI cameras along the interstates that'll alert highway patrol if you're texting can also do facial recognition but they're just not saying that part out loud.

    Here’s the thing, If the gubment wants my face, they’ve had it since I got my drivers license with a photo on it. It was in their database (albeit physical not digital) since then. There’s probably no citizen born in this country that couldn’t be recognized by those cameras today. I will put as much concern into that as I do what anyone thinks of me.

    Have you never flown?  You don't get to the gate until you are scanned.  I've been in the system for years.

    Cruises have been doing this even longer.
    Focus on what you can do, not what you can't.

    It doesn't bother me either was just saying it's been around.
