Pet Training and Skilling.

Animal Training:

Training is getting your pet to 100% so you can do advanced training.
Your pet can enter a daily power hour that increases the % gain.
Some Mobs give greatly gains. That is the highest gain.

These include Crazed mage and most other mobs on that level of shame.
Allosaurus, Night Terror, Navrey, Dread Pirates. and many Event Bosses.

Crazy Mage is not for skill gains!  Use it for Training only.

Skill Increasing.

Pets can be discorded to increase gain speed.
Pets have to use the skill for it to increase.

For Magic Skills you can use Gregorio. He is in front of the large Mainland Skara Field.

Pets will fight him and use their magic. Gregorio does not give melee skill increases.
Pets do not damage him.

For Magic and Healing increases you can use Dimes. We use the island on LS.
They constantly poison the pet and you have to stand back because they retarget and love to kill tamers on the island. So the pet uses healing and Chiv spells.

You can also use mobs in shame, mark a rune on the circled Island, you can tele to the others.
The diseased blood eles will cast at and poison the pet and you, stand back. Start with 2 and see if the pet can stay alive. If you need to gather more, be careful, everything there wants to kill you. Popping to that side is usually deadly.

Melee skill increases.

Melee skills increase faster if you fight things that are within 20 of your pet.

The slug pit is a popular place to increase a pets Wrestling and Parry. They can take the pet to 120 in those eventually. Tactics will stop around 80. Manty has a mean spike area damage, only one can be here at a time.

A faster way for Melee skill increases to to go to Yomotsu Mines and use a Shadow ele.

They come with 60s or 90s tactics and/or wrestling. Usually you want to find a 90/90.
Kill them with physical until you get the one that fits your pet. Their skill also increases as they fight.

When you enter the mines, leave the mobs you collected before you get to the shadow eles. There are 2 of them, don’t kill other stuff, move things instead. Once you find the ele you want, go to the safe spots and make sure everything else is beyond the yellow lines. Don’t mess with the other mobs, stay focused.

You can safely let the pet fight in these spots.

For resistance gains, you can gather spectral soulbinders in New Haven.

We have ships set up that stay there and are public for boarding. There can be 9 of them, the more you use the faster resistance goes up. Take them to the ship and board with the pet. If the pet does area damage, you have to say all kill then all stop very fast. Target each one with the pet.

Do this stuff for 80 hours or more and your pet will be 120s except in healing, that will take months.

Training works best with a discorder at crazed mage and allosaurus (sp?) to manipulate the gains.

Highly recommend skill increase wrestling before attempting training. Gains aren't so great if it can't hit.

Training does not need the target discorded.
You want the mage to hit the pet, most gains come from the pet taking damage. I don't think the mage has enough melee skills for a pet to miss. Mage barely damages a pet with their melee. The spells damage the weak pets.

If you use a tank pet to fight the mage, noticed how slow the other pet gains, because it is not getting damaged.  Mage is a 1 pet training mob.

That' s why Night Terror works for multiple pets.  They all take damage and gain.

A 40 melee skill Cu will not gain at the mage.  Their melee skills must be really low.
Also the old exploit Cus with 10 wrestling gained back to 5 slots on the mage.  They skilled them afterward.  Could see them at the slimes they were so low.

I discord the mage at a point hoping my archers will kill it faster.

Without assistance from power hour a typical 1 or 2 slot pet will take 40 mins to go from 0 to 100% on the mage. One of the new pets took over an hour, I forget which.

If your pet is taking excess damage, use a poison field, the mage will run out of mana dispelling it.

Allosaurus could use the discord.  That is where I test how squishy a pet type is.  So I want them to hit hard.

Let a pet take damage from like 400 to 200, it will be fast.  Lore the pet and see how much stamina is lost.  Do that more than once, allow the pet to gain all things back.

I did a Blazetail and a Thunderhoof this week.  Thunderhoof is squishy, its stamina went to 120s 30s
Blazetail stayed above 140,usually not below 145.

Ill increase the SR on the Thunderhoof.

Both are 4 slot and have chivalry above 110.  Had about the same Mana and HP.

The amount of stamina loss seems to have to do with the damage taken% vs the total HP.

If a 100 HP pet gets hit with a 50 point hit, it will lose stamina.  If a 600HP pet get a 50 point hit, it may lose a point of stamina.

Keep pets at their high HP so they do not lose stamina.  As the HP drop the Stamina loss increases with the same hit.

IMO 600HP is enough for your generic pet.
