Reforging for DCI

I'm planning on trying to make arms and a chest piece for my paladin and wondering which colour runic hammer I'm best to use for reforging please ?
Ideally I would end up with some DCI

    Quite the complicated thing.  The amount of things you get depends on the hammer.

    You can also get a free property.

    But towering/Aegis does DCI.

    It's pretty easy to get for free when making a luck suit.

    So if you use a low level hammer you get less properties? What about the intensity? 

    If I understand it I would choose powerful+exalted+sublime and name it towering/aegis and hope for the best ?

    In this case you'd want to choose Towering and Something that matches the things you want.

    @Mariah ; there was a post about reforging.  It was a document where he laid out many things, any chance that can be found?

    That one is good also.

    The one I am talking about is a file that someone put on.
    Its a doc file that I downloaded from his post.

    I tried to link it to this post but I don't know if it will.

    Called. Crafting Elemental Weapons and Luck Suit.  Posters name is not in the document.

    I tried to search for it but I get a ton of posts back because those words are pretty common.

    I have definitely done that.  Still have a 190Luck  dex bone helm helmet that Has really good stats.

    I think it was 5M.  

    DCI and HCI appear on armor soo often, when you are not wanting them....

    Someoness like, I used a whole hammer and got no item I could use.  I ask was it a 150 use hammer?  No, well then you have just begun to try.

    There are 2 methods the devs use to add properties.  imbuing, you get what you want.

    Reforging, you get higher values, but chosen from a group of things.

    Kyronix said they had to decide between imbuing  and reforging when the pet revamp came out.

    They chose imbuing.  Can you imagine, to put a special ability on a pet you choose special and get one of those. OMG.  maybe AI, or maybe something else.

    If I want a Pawain silencer rod of silence I should be able to make one I'm ok with having to get different difficult ingredients even doing quest if needed but I want to create what I want. Imagine if when swinging your weapon you randomly hit different targets..same with spells

    You need to search for multiple words in quotation marks. Then you can find this:

    Arroth_Thaiel would you mind if I copied that document to the wiki?

    It's complicated isn't it ! Thanks for all the input , some people have put alot of time into these pages of information it's a good job we have these forums to look back on. One thing I noticed though is alot of these guides say slaughter for DCI while the UO site says towering of aegis? I will give it a go. I suppose an easier option would be to add required DCI to a ring I'm making and just buy the best arms and chest I can find/afford. 

    Next job is to start making my slayer weapons

    To make just one example of how the UO Forums are a Treasure Thread of knowledge about the game, and how the UO Wiki, unless it retrieved all of the threads and posts contained in the UO Forums before they get lost, just look at the Thread that Mariah pointed to...


    Yes, there is the valuable document posted by Arroth_Thaiel that, perhaps, might be possible, hopefully, to be included in the UO Wiki...

    Nonetheless, the thread contains also comments from experienced UO players adding their knowledge to the thread... for example, here https://forum.uo.com/discussion/comment/96924/#Comment_96924 Pawain makes a comment that for an archer one would use bone and studded leather pieces and, not reforge with the highest level hammer or sewing kit for luck pieces.

    Now, this is valuable "added" information coming from that thread that could be helpful to players who play with an archer.

    This is just an example but the UO Forums are full of these "added knowledge" posts where if one gets into the UO Wiki just the main Guide or Topic but not also those other additions which other UO players and posters contributed to the main topic of that thread, would end up with an information in the UO Wiki that is not as comprehensive as one could retrieve from reading those entire UO Forums threads including all of the posts in them.

    This is why I think the UO Forums should remain as permanent at least in their ability to be searched by UO new, returning and even veteran players, because in those Threads there can be Posts where UO players added their gameplay knowledge contribution to the main topic of that thread which the UO Wiki might not have included.

    At least, this is how I see it.

    Would it be an option that somewhere like Stratics could host it as a read only resource?

    @popps you make a point, but how useful is it if you can't find it? Pawain tried and failed. I needed his additional information, from HIS MEMORY to succeed. The information in the forum is only useful if you can find it!

    What you're all missing is
    Our current forum software has reached end-of-life status and is no longer supported. New forum software is necessary which would require extended downtime as we address feature implementation and critical security updates.


    The software is at 'end of life' the team can't do anything about that. New software would need extended downtime - by which time everyone would have moved on to communicating through other means, that's the way things go, so we'd all have moved onto discord or something else anyway by the time the 'new' forum could be ready.

    No one is missing it.  Rather, they are choosing not to acknowledge it.  It would be nice to find a way to archive the forums, which is dependent, and not dependent, on "end-of-life".

    But, my question is, could the current UOForums content be archived as read only and, at least, be searchable to UO players who login with their account info in order to conduct searches about UOForum archived content ?

    If so, you could then add to the UOWiki a page mentioning this "special", archived content from the UOForums so that new, returning or veteran UO players could know where to go to in order to do whatever gameplay search they want to do within that archived content.
