NL Pets? @Pawain

Which pets that I brought from NL to production aren't worth keeping now?
Regular Dragon?
Tortured Dragon?
Grobu?
Thunder?
White Wyrm?
Crimson Drakes?
Nightmare?
Dragonwolf?

Emberwing
Juvenile Manticore
Flame of Abrahel
Draalwyrm.

Depends on what you mean by "worth keeping"...

If you are talking about most DPS / tanky pet then most of those are going to fall short of the PROD pets we have. Flame of Abrahel def has its place as they come pretty beefy but with 100% fire damage they probably need chiv/ai. Pets like Grobu/Thunderhoof are cool (since they are different pet looks) but aren't going to out-damage the standard Prod pets like AI/Chiv Triton...and with their specials I don't think they can get up there.

I might be wrong when I make this blanket statement but when I compared a handful of things in NL (like a dragon) to Prod there wasn't a difference in stats for most. The only exception that I know of is the fire steed which came with higher strength.

Now if you mean "worth keeping" to possibly sell down the road or for UO clout...then I'd say anything not available on Prod...so Grobu/Thunderhoof would be worth saving to sell to someone who might have missed out on NL but likes the pet. Likewise riding around on a manticore shows off some NL swag.

That said, my personal opinion (and what I'm doing) is keep all NL pets that are different than Prod (including fire steed) and transfer them to TC1 to test a few builds because I'm sure there will be certain scenarios where these pets can kick ass.

The original NL pets do not have a lot of intensity for building.  The next gen pets do.

There was sooo many fire pets there and the mobs were low in fire.

Draalwyrm would be the top pet.  Has elemental damage and Rune Corruption!
It can get AI and Chivalry.  The first pet that can get AI/RC/Chiv!!!!!

The Flame is Best easier to get pet pet IMO.

    The NL Firesteed next.

Those because of the fire damage and they can get Inferno.  Mount makes them more desirable than:

Blazetail, Like the Firesteed, cant mount.  Makes a great 80% fire 20%phy pet.
We should be able to ride them like a skateboard but Parallax said, No.

Emberwing.  Best special pet at beginning of NL.  100% fire damage.  Has Magery dragon breath and inferno.  This would be a better pet than a prodo Dragon.

NL Nightmare.  A bridge between 2 lot current and PP nightmares.  Makes a good magery pet.
    But the Shadowmane is better.

    Non specific Fire damage pets.

Juvenile Manticore.  Awesome graphics when fighting!!!!  I can't believe they are not more desirable as bank sitters.  They build like a mid range Cu.  If they had healing, they would be awesome!  100% phy damage, boo.

Thunderhoof.  Awesome pet!  180 dex so it walks very fast.  Not a mount. Can get AI/Chiv.

NL Ram.  A bridge between a current Ram and Ursine. (Ursine was made because the Ram sux)

Arantress,  I wish it would be a good pet. A cool spider!  Not enough points for a good build.
    Pachuxo,  not enough points.
Arctos, a low lvl Cu type pet with no healing and phy damage.  Not enough points.
Dragon wolf, same as current dragonwolf.  They are high intensity beasts.  Bad damage spread.
The drakes were same as prodo.  Great to drag 2 along with you.  My fire pair got me many drops.

Grobu cant go to 5 slot.  Very cool pet to look at.

Frostpaw, because it come with an ability from each category, they can not get any other special.
    Worst pet from NL.

The WW ended up less than the PP WWs. Sorry.

I don't know where the tortured dragon came from.  I assume it would be better than a current dragon. Reg Dragons same as Prodo.

I think that goes in order for pet building purposes.

I am surprised the NL pets do not sell for more.  I have a bunch of Flames.  I think they are actually worth more than they can sell for.  They make a better pet than many other things that sell for 500M+.  They only sell for 300M.  I have paid over 100M for a bane and a Dread warhorse.  Nothing else.  IMO those are deco pets, they do not kill something faster than less expensive pets.

I think that is all of them.  Remember I am a flappy hater.  So I am biased toward non Flappy pets.

The fire damage is what made a lot of them better than prodo pets, because there are not a lot of Fire pets on Prodo.  But, right after those pets came here.  The JU has 50% fire damage.

The Draalwyrm will outperform the standard pet on Prodo.  If built right!!!!!

Some dip S on Atl added dragon breath to one!  Geez dude you coulda just got a Reptalon!

Also I have seen Dragon breath on the Flames, OMG they made those horses without DB for a reason.

And I saw someone put F ing Bleed on a JU.  You wanted to make a Cu dragon?  Thats the thing we dont want on a Cu!

Tortured dragon spawned in the left side of Blackthorns. Here's the stats of the one I brought back:

I think I'll ditch most of the regular types I brought back. Grobu and Thunder can stay in the stable, I'll train up Emberwing, Juvenile Manticore, Flame of Abrahel and Draalwyrm.
lose the regular dragon, drakes, nightmare, white wyrm and dragon wolf.
Wait to see what you make of the tortured.  Maybe sell it if anyone offers :D

That is what a regular dragon would be if it didn't jump slots. 825 str.

Would make a nice magery pet and add AI.  Then put the bells and whistles.

It's like an Umbrascale Ascedent not enough points for Chivalry and bells and whistles.
