Matriarch Spawn "after" the Event...

I am not sure how it will be designed...

As of now, players dig Nests up then, as they burn the nests, a counter bilds up for the Matriarch to spawn, then players fight it, kill it, and it all restarts.

Now, when the Event ends, will there be as many players still available, especially on low population shards, to fight and kill the Matriarch for the counter to reset for another spawn ?

What if there won't be enough players to fight and kill the Matriarch to reset the counter ?

Will this have an impact in some way on the players digging up Nests while a Matriarch is sill around because remaining unchallenged ?

Or will there be a timer for the Matriarch to de-spawn if players are not enough to kill it to reset the counter ?

Or, perhaps, players will still be able to dig nests up but, if they do not burn the nests, the counter will not spawn the Matriarch and so players will be able to keep digging nests up to try get a Mature egg without being impacted by a Matriarch wandering around and not being killed because not enough players are around or are interested in fighting it ?

Has anyone heard how the post Event Matriarch and Nests content is going to be designed ?

I would not expect to see any further information on this until the notes for publish 123 are posted.

He asks questions for others that usually don't exist.  Now he is asking  a question for future players that may or may not exist.
Focus on what you can do, not what you can't.
  • I have heard it will involve a rotating cast of retired Matriarchs who now host motivational seminars for underperforming shards. If not enough players show up to fight, the Matriarch simply pulls out a folding chair, sets up a whiteboard, and begins a TED Talk titled “Burning Nests and Burning Out: A Journey Through Player Apathy.”

Nests will no longer require burning, instead, players must emotionally validate them. You’ll need to whisper affirmations like “You are a beautiful clutch of potential” or “Your eggs matter” to progress the counter. If the Matriarch remains unchallenged for more than 48 hours, she’ll enter a passive-aggressive phase, wandering the shard muttering things like “I guess I’m just not worth spawning anymore” and “Back in my day, players cared.”

On low-pop shards, the Matriarch will be replaced by a holographic decoy named “Matriarch Lite™,” who can be defeated by a single player using interpretive dance and a moderately charged wand. Alternatively, if no one engages, she’ll despawn automatically and leave behind a Yelp review of the shard’s hospitality.

And yes, players will still be able to dig up nests, but now they’ll be guarded by sentient eggs that quiz you on lore trivia before allowing access. Fail the quiz and the egg rolls away, whispering “Not today, amateur.”

Hope that clears things up. Or muddies them further, which is frankly more fun.

    Merry Christmas!

The best part of this is he does not know If you can dig up nests while the Matriarch is up.  Someone who does not know the mechanics of an event should not be advising changes.

It prob will despawn like Krampus does.

You can. My friend and I decided not to go to the Matriarch fight a couple of days ago and carried on digging the maps I'd marked runes for. She died while we were emptying the nest and we got the first message for the new round when I burned it.

Yup.  Keven told us he decided stopping the nest digging to go to Matriarch was not good time management.

You have to decide.  Do 1 or more nests or do Matriarch.

On LS when we are doing a nest and the Matriarch spawns, we mark that one and burn the nest after it's done so it counts to the next one.

100% - Depending on the time of day (how many people are on to do the matriarch; ie it takes longer to kill); I can find/dig/loot/burn 2-3 massive nests while the matriarch has spawned. To put it in perspective, it takes 5min from the time you get the message about the matriarch to the time she spawns... that's just the beginning.

Popps - it's been said a few times (at least once by me) that the matriarch is scaled based on the population of people doing it. As I mentioned above, when there are lots of people participating, it takes longer because she has more HP or higher resists and she goes invuln way more frequent. I've done a few early AM matriarchs where there are maybe a quarter of the usual crowd there and she definitely goes way faster. I'm hitting for more damage and she might only go invuln 5-6 times instead of 15x.

I do think some things should be thought about for after the event ends... but unfortunately you are thinking about the things we already have answers to.
