Hidden Chest Luck & Loot Generation
Question
PotatoLC: I would like to know when I need to put my luck ring on to get the benefit for the Riftborn purple chests in Mistas. Exactly when is the loot generated and luck checked? Is it when it is passively detected, revealed, picked, untrapped, or opened?
Thanks!
Answer
Parallax: Luck plays a determining factor when you actively reveal the chest, specifically when you use the Detect Hidden skill and the chest is successfully revealed.
Rifted Crown Drop Rates & Hues
Question
Tamer: Could you please clarify the drop rate chances for the rewards from the Rifted Crown champion encounter? Specifically, what are the chances of receiving a Void Obelisk, and once one drops, how is the hue determined? Are all hues equally likely, or are some rarer than others?
Answer
Parallax: The Void Obelisk is intended to be the rarest reward from the Rifted Crown Champion encounter, so you won’t see it drop very often. When one does drop, the hue is chosen from a weighted list, ranging from common to very rare. The void-colored hue (2071), in particular, is the rarest of them all.

Hidden Easter Eggs
Question
Sablestorm: Have there been any easter eggs in UO that the Dev Team secretly implemented, but haven't yet been found by the players?
Answer:
Kyronix: Yes – there are. I know of at least one that hasn't been discovered, and Parallax has certainly kept up the tradition of adding them. No – we're not going to give any hints.

Test Center Pet Enhancements
Question
Imperior: Can we expand the pet testing capabilities on test center?
We can currently instabond pets and fast track training progress but lack similar gates or tools for applying power scrolls and setting skills to max without actually spending the hours or days to train them. Thoughts on expanding to allow for better testing and understanding with new and old pets alike? Especially as NL brings new pets to PROD.
Answer
Kyronix: Yes, expanding pet testing capability is something we can enhance for TC1. If you PM us a wishlist, we can see about adding it in Publish 122.

Death Strike Mechanics
Question
andre_uo: Ninjitsu Death Strike. Does this skill work the way the description says it does?
Answer
Bleak: The in-game description is a simplified version of how Death Strike actually works. The ability triggers after either five steps or three seconds, whichever comes first. If the target hasn’t moved, you can refresh the strike to add additional damage.
Damage is based primarily on your Ninjitsu skill and is capped at 60 for movement-based triggers and 30 for time-based triggers. Your average Hiding and Stealth skills modify the damage, scaling it between 30% and 100%, and using a ranged weapon applies a 50% damage reduction. Against other players, the strike is capped at 50 direct damage.
There’s also a tracking bonus—up to 20 extra damage if you’re actively tracking the target.

- Removing 10 stamina from a target with 20 total stamina = 50% remaining → significant increase.,
- Removing 10 stamina from a target with 200 total stamina = 95% remaining → very minor impact.,
There's also a small random variance in the base damage applied each tick, and Strangle deals Poison damage, so the target's Poison Resist can further reduce the final output.- 100 skill = Lethal (Level 5),
- 80 skill = Deadly (Level 4),
- 60 skill = Level 3, and so on.,
If your skill is too low, the poison level is reduced accordingly. There is always a minimum level 1 poison, even with no skill.- Concussion Blow – Applies scaling direct damage between 10–15 based on weapon speed.,
- Ranged weapons mana drain max 50% and return max 40%.,
- Melee weapons mana drain max 80% and return max 70%.,
- Two handed melee weapons mana drain max 80% and returned max 40%.,
According to in-game description:- Does Direct Damage to the Target based on the difference between their current Hit Points and Mana. The greater the difference, the more Damage they receive.,
Observed behavior:- 3 sec weapon does 10 dmg,
- 4.5 sec weapon does 10 dmg,
- 0 mana vs full HP still 10 dmg,
What difference in speed and/or mana vs HP target should have to deal 15 dmg?- Lance,
- Gargish Lance,
- Halberd,
The rest of the information contained in the Wiki regarding mana drained and returned to the target is still correct.- Dirt/Farmland Tiles
- Reset Pet Training
- More SoS Bottles
- New Mount Hues
- More Ridable Pack Animals

- Mature Dragon Egg Chance
- Pet Scrolls of Transcendence
- New Playable Races
- Evasion Diminishing Returns
- Stygian Abyss Imbuing Ingredients
Have a question of your own? Submit it in the five-on-friday-questions channel — but please make sure to read the pinned guidelines before posting. Thoughtful questions help us provide more useful answers for everyone!- The reduction begins immediately in PvP.,
- Every successful evasion (melee, ranged, or spell) reduces your parry chance further.,
- By the time you’ve evaded seven or more attacks, your parry chance is reduced by 80% compared to normal.,
So yes, running through a Poison Field or getting hit by Nova affects your evasion efficiency globally, not just for that attack.- Draconic Awakening Even
- Mature Umbrascale Dragon Egg Colors
- Secure Pet Trading
•
- Lumberjacking Damage
- Never Run Setting
Have a question of your own? Submit it in the five-on-friday-questions channel — but please make sure to read the pinned guidelines before posting. Thoughtful questions help us provide more useful answers for everyone!- How many lore pages are there in total?,
- Are the chewed/dissolved type of weapons/armor just deco or will a full suit get any type of buff/special effect?,
- Besides the Umbrascale items that drop in place of the gold (for the usual champ spawn), is there anything special the Broodmother Fel Champ drops? Can she drop mature eggs? If so, does luck impact that? Anything else it might drop?,
- Should the 1k hidden luck bonus in Fel apply to the drop rate for items as well as chests (I've tested it and it doesn't seem like it's better in Fel compared to Tram/Ilsh).,
Answer Parallax:- Damage Increase: This is capped at 100% and is typically found on Weapons, Armor, and Jewelry.,
- Damage Modifier:
This is capped at 300% and includes items like Slayers and certain
buffs. All players also have a base 100% damage modifier value.,
- Damage Bonus: This modifies your base damage and does not have a cap. This includes bonuses from your damage increase, skills, and stats.,
- Final Damage: This is the calculation of your Base Damage, Damage Bonus, and Damage Modifier.,
So how does Lumberjacking factor into this?- Lumberjacking Provides a damage bonus of 1/5 your skill level, with a 10% bonus at GM skill (So a 30% bonus at GM Lumberjacking).,
- GM Lumberjacking also provides a 10% chance to provide a 100% damage bonus each swing (which does not stack with the passive Lumberjacking bonus).,
- The Human racial passive Jack-of-all-Trades does apply to Lumberjacking, and will give a 4% damage bonus.,
- Caveat: Your weapon must be an Axe for any Lumberjacking bonuses to apply.
The current possible maximum Damage Bonus you can achieve is 326.25%, which would require:
