If you have records, then why do people have to page a GM to get theirs back? What's the difference in putting it in the character's backpack? Or another system flagged for when the character/account logs in? In addition, what if the person who lost it doesn't log on for a few weeks? They are just screwed?

I really do not like this at all.
I agree with you... I asked about if there was a way for them to check my toons across all shards and was told I'd need to log in to check...so if anyone has a warrior that possibly had one equipped they should check now.

I still don't really understand the piece talking about replacing the items in houses. I spoke to a GM about it and they said "Starting on the 17th the team will start dropping bags with the proper amount of items that were lost". So I guess a random bag may or may not be placed someone on the floor in our houses? If we don't receive a bag then I guess we should assume nothing was missing? I also do not like this because I know I had some extra Balron bone pieces in my house (for outfitting new toons) but I can't find them... so did they go poof or are they buried someone else?

I'm not sure if anyone else can confirm but I think the ones that went poof either had enhancement or refinement applied. I had a couple toons I logged in with that still had their chest piece (but they weren't refined or enhanced), but this might have been after they applied the fix for the issue.

It appears the UO.com message is POORLY worded, so read this instead:

    Also,

    Also,

The answers to your questions are on this thred and from discord.
So rather than recognise the effort the botters went to, to set all that up - for the benefit of the players, to help get certain items, something you could never be bothered to do, you would rather drag people backwards to your neanderthal world?

Leave attended paying accounts alone, these people go thru a lot of trouble to automate the game.

It’s comical to me you are so frightened of somehow bod scripters get some sort of advantage.

I don't understand how this one happened. No sort of pattern at all.

I had 1 enhanced and dyed being worn and 1 new in a container untouched but 1 undyed enhanced and 1 new were removed-replaced.

Quick update here...Fenneko is actually going around and manually replacing the missing Balron in your house. I happened to be in my house today when I saw a Balron armor appear on the floor (guess I only had that one that went missing).

For me, all of my missing Balron has been replaced. The refinements is a bit of an inconvenience but the new dragon maps have tons of them so I should be able to replace that pretty quick. I also  don't swap around suits between accounts so the account bound is fine for me. I do feel bad for people that lost blessed versions though.

@KroDuK Why would it be manual? Even though UO does not have an SQL like database, it would be relatively simple to set up a search to go through the data in the backup and pick up the strings of data that match the balron armor and grab the character/account it was attached to.

I hope they are good at finding a spot that is free!

The announcement would be different if not.

Ask yourself one question:"why the Balron Bone Armor were originally deleted from prodo when they were just aiming at deleting the unintended NL items that made it on prodo?"

    You gonna answer that question.

All we can do is supposed here.. we don't have the code nor the deleted items list under our eyes. I supposed this is something along those line.. They pick the balron bone armor as base to do a NL items.. it was modify. But when that items made it's way to prodo (unintended) and they deleted it, it also flag (too wide) the Balron bone armor, type of stuff.. and now they need to do a manual head count cuz their system cannot split them apart or it would have never been deleted in the first place, but I have no idea.. only supposition at this level.

All we know for sure is, those Balron Bone Armor got deleted when they did deleted the unintended NL items that made it's way on Prodo.
