The fatigue is real.
I've been preaching about it for years now: these limited time grinds have fatigued many people and have caused them to quit, and I'm seeing it more and more these days. This is the exact reason I've scaled back and have closed accounts personally... I don't have time to farm this limited time gear for multiple accounts, so what's the point.
Now it's worse and we have something like this:
Life ToT/Event ➤ NL ToT/Event ➤ Live ToT/Event
With little (or no?) pause in between. We're entering the holiday season, where people are a bit busier than usual, and not only do we have the holiday content but on top of that we also have a limited time grind until Feb.
People need time to breathe.

This is just the most recent example I have seen (from one of the fan forums) but I can't disagree with their sentiment: this feels like too much for limited content/rewards. Despite this poster's experience was on NL, I had the similar on the town invasions last cycle: I did 2-3 spawns EVERY DAY for the duration and STILL didn't get 1 every boss drop. I didn't even have time or a chance to consider doing the chests. Furthermore, I don't know anyone personally that did get 1 of everything from the boss, and a few people I know started doing it 3-6 times a day (doing multiple shards cities). That's not right.
Have you ever considered a change to permanent content? It was cited early on that these temporary ToTs/events were a stop-gap to allow production of New Legacy. Well, New Legacy is completing it's first year so why are we still doing these temporary ToTs/events? Or, is this grind fatigue cycle permanent @Kyronix @Parallax ?
"UO feels like a full time job" Wonder why the bots are out of control?

It's like showing an alcoholic a bottle of beer each morning, here it is but you shouldn't drink it.
Life on hold until February.
I was also thinking Sims Pets, then I realised; no way they can produce 2 new theme pack in a single year + prodo + NL + CC update (this one, was supposed to land past summer).. right?
Must be related with what they've already produce on NL.. anyone playing NL can help guessing the new themes?
Leave attended paying accounts alone, these people go thru a lot of trouble to automate the game.
It’s comical to me you are so frightened of somehow bod scripters get some sort of advantage.

I got so many t-maps during the Juka city event from the hidden chests, I'm not even halfway digging them all up, and here we go again.
I need more Davies' Lockers...
But I say that in a good way...
Because I love t-maps...
I just could not face the last event
however, this looks interesting
I was hoping there would be maps similar to the thanksgiving turkey events from the past, they were amazing, with pieces of the maps or whole maps and you had to find the nests
looks to be different, but I like the rewards in this so I think I will park my C2 Hercules in my Star Citizen hanger and take a look at this........
There will be no breaks until morale improves!!!
They gonna dig into VS for you.
MMO's must have grind. Staying with an MMO for 28 years is also a grind. Living with the ups and downs of an MMO is also a grind.
We escape the RL grind to MMO grind. It is the reality. Which do you prefer?
I prefer the MMO grind as it keeps my RL grind a little more sane.
Having said that, grinding for items and the FOMO that consumes that pursuit is not my jam: playing the game is my jam.
You'd be dumb to ignore it. Game Breaker items. Temporary event with Best in Slots heresy on a sandbox.
Then when u participate in one of those events.. All u see is Sampies with X garg thrower on their back on Trammel. You call someone out and he puts one of his thrower on you.
You go participate in Felucca, you realise ~10 out of the ~13 characters on the zone are fully automated sampies, with 2-3 red sitting and chassing people out of the zone..
~4 days later, after you earn some of the heresy items from the events and can now stand your ground.. u decide to pass on the offensive and clear some of the bots.
Instead of having ~10 sampies fully automated farming on their own with 2-3 reds protecting them, you now have 3 sampies, each, trail blazing 3-4 more sampies (all blue characters doing the PvP bot train).
All that to say good comment about PLAYING, cuz the grind is one thing.. but the CONDITION and TERMS of said grind is another.
That heretic event, after playing it for ~10 days, I was fed up and stopped playing UO since.. cuz of said conditons/terms. The fully automated botsss are actively promoted during those heretic bribe event.
UO fatigue or BS fatigue?
You don't have to be playing the game.. only botting those events.

I decided to play NL and that is where my time has been spent. If the event there wasn't as good as it is (and the people are wonderful) I would likely not be playing UO right now until the new publish. That said, on NL it's been the same 10-20 people since the event started so I'm not sure how many people actually are grinding NL now.
So technically we've had like 2.5 months of a "break" on Prod. On top of that; the new Prod event goes until Feb... that's 3+ months to work the event. You don't NEED to grind it out the entire time. It's unfortunate that the mentality of some people is "if I can't do it or participate then the entire game should be put on hold". Sounds like those people should play a single player game where they can save and pickup where they left off.
Maybe it's an unpopular opinion but for anyone feeling the fatigue, they should probably take a break and allow the people that are enjoying new content/rewards to keep on truckin'.
