Event Reflection
I returned to UO in July and got right into the event. I farmed lots of chests, defended Mistas, killed lots of bosses. I was able to get all of the event items that I wanted having accumulated over 1000 points. I got lots of void cubes and a few banners but never received the obelisk but I do not lament that: I had fun doing what I did. Clydesdales were a hit.
Being in Ilshenar was nice but I am wondering if there is a way to incorporate the High Seas into any future events. There were a few drawbacks: lag, endlessly teleporting bosses but overall it was a good event.

There were plenty of ways to get Riftborne drops and they fell at a decent rate, allowing me to get everything I wanted and a few extras.
A few tweaks/improvements I have based on playing the event:
I play for fun, not to try to beat everyone else.
The RNG rewards the humble.
If it were only top damagers then those who have the equipment/template/pet that does the most damage would get an obelisk every time. Then frustration sets in for those who play like they want to.
This part of the event was perfect, everyone had the same chance as everyone else. Players could play the template they like to play.
I don't have all the rare things from krampus, should I make a pity party thread about that?
I played MORE than a casual player and was only able to acquire one Obelisk. I don't think they should drop like candy but honestly if you are a casual player playing the event nonstop (like 1 to 2 cycles a day) - you should be able to get an obelisk.
My grand totals were :
1 Obelisk
5 Banners
2 Crystals
30 Void Cubes
Approx 5 - 6k in reward items claimed (3 Mares, the recipes, 10 or so boots, handful of the branches, handful of each wearable, 20 of the void beacons, about 20-25 of the slayers totems (stackable in a jewelry box).
Congrats you got 4 drops.... on the flip side you also don't have a life outside of UO so I think you are losing in the grand scheme of life. But hey congrats on your pixels.
Anyways... I played my sampire on Origin and was typically the only warrior fighting the champion which meant I was taking lots of dmge etc... I don't think in that situation that person should get the most common reward. Also as a clarification, I'm not saying the people who created a new toon with 50 magery wouldn't have a chance at the most rare drop.... that band would work like it did which apparently worked well for some.
Does everyone PLAY the same?
Also, EJ accounts are free to play. Not sure if that type of account could get drops/rewards.
We had a archer that was very nice on LS, Rest her soul, she went to the community hunts and you could see her shooting at the mob, but after the mob died she always said she did not get loot rights.
I think players like her who are there to participate as well as they can should have a chance at the same outcomes that players who do max damage. Maybe just me that feels that way.
Your friend on LS: I agree, she should have gotten loot rights. Too bad someone on LS didn't help her out and show her how to increase her damage output.
Also you don't know the health/physical conditions of some players. Maybe they are lucky to be able to do what they can.
Hey look he's stopped claiming to be good and has moved on to inventing moral justifications for being bad. Congrats dude, that counts as progress.
Love the deco!! Very inventive!!
