During the final boss fight last night I got griefed killed 6 times by other players purposely running to me when the countdown to them taking damage was getting shown.  If that mechanism is kept for future events it should be modified to do a non-killing amount of damage to the bystanders.

Your level of entitled self importance is overwhelming why would anyone bother with that

I saw other players getting griefed as well.  The griefers ran directly to people who had just got rezed.

As for why the griefers would do that the answer is simple: reduce the competition for getting good drops.

Maybe they were just running?? And even dead you get drop..
  • TimStTimSt Posts: 1,948
They were running after people who were trying to avoid them and if you did not move they stopped right next you instead of running past you.  You may get a drop if dead but if you are not able to do any damage for several minutes because you get keep getting killed by griefers before you have a chance to reenter the battle the quality of the drop will suffer.

This is pretty funny.  On Atlantic if any boss other than. The tree pops.  90% of us die during the 3 second lag.

But ya, players run. Fight or flight kicks in.

Grief killed 6 times??x so you ran straight back in without healing or gearing up and died 6 times in a row really

Move to a shard where the players don't hate you?

Twice I when self rezed thanks to "Gift of Life" and before I even had a chance to start healing myself they came up and grief killed me.  The other four times I was coming back from getting rezed by the healer they griefed killed me.  They were doing a lot of grief killing of people coming back from the healer.
  • PawainPawain Posts: 11,207
That would mean they targeted you.  You really feel they did that to target you?

Last night two of my guys were away from the others while I was fighting with another guy.  Someone ran to them and I heard their screams.  Did I think they targeted me? Nope.

I'd say its more of ignorance of how that works.  You run and at 0 you stop and see where the swirl is and avoid that.   Keeping running spreads it out.

What part of they were griefing other players as well did you not understand?

I've done the Riftbreaker multiple times. This was not accidentally getting someone else killed behavior.  It was obviously intended.

I killed my two other guys tonight, musta been griefing myself.  Also another player killed them after I ressed them.

Then on Atl tonight every player was griefed within 3 seconds, when they returned they were griefed again.

LS and Atl had Rift guy just now.

So you are hated by someone on your shard?  Why come tell that to us?

You are still missing the point that I was not the only one they were griefing.  Why are you so intent on saying I was the only one to be griefed?

So someone does not understand the mechanics so they run toward people as they flee.

Did you talk to this player?

Every time I took out others, I was griefing also?

No, I do not understand why you call this griefing.

I don't want to pile on here, and while I'm sure they were griefing, the drops are 100% RNG and by simply dying you are entered into the lottery for a "good drop". Doing/taking/healing more damage has zero impact on your drop (unfortunately).

So the silver lining is that getting griefed isn't actually impacting your drop...just your event enjoyment  :D

Saw that.  Pretty funny, but I'll go out on a limb and say that's not the real Riftbreaker. The real one is silent...except for all of the charging capacitors and clanking gears.

This has been a fantastic event, except the last 3-4 days have been miserable with the crashes.  Still able to get drops, etc., for the most part, but it makes me dread it.

All the speculation about how the event would die off and players did not have resources.

Well LS kicked some Rift Booty!  Have supplies left that we are tossing.

Great Job LS, good luck on our last run!
