Pub 120 for low pop servers

It is borderline impossible to do anything past phase 2 on Origin atm and im sure other shards are experiencing something similar to this, just not enough players willing to fight, a few thief's running around doing chest. Any chance we can get a back door into phase 4 after 2 hours of not completing the phase 3, its only going to get worse as time goes on.

We all love the new event — no question about it. The design is amazing, and it’s been a blast for many of us.

BUT we need to talk about the shard population differences. This event shines on high-pop shards like Atlantic, where hundreds of players are active, helping each other, doing bosses, chests, and pushing through levels together.

On low-pop shards though, it’s a very different experience — one that’s often frustrating or impossible to fully enjoy. We simply don’t have the numbers to sustain the event the way it was designed.

@Kyronix @Parallax — please, please, please consider this:
Can we have all levels open at once or something similar on low-pop shards? That way, players can pick the content they enjoy most — boss fights, treasure chests, solo exploration — and not be bottlenecked by a lack of bodies.

We want to participate. We just need a way to make it possible.

Love this quote. Let me take my Garg train into the ToT at any time of day is what he means.

Part of this event is doing some grunt work. While waiting for people to blow the wall for you, gather some crystalline blackrock and void orbs. The same skills that give you 100 drops an hour can get you some mats to sell or trade. I personally have been having fun gathering things I haven't thought about for like 10 years. Get out there and farm some bomb ingredients

Dawg, I cleared the entire event with a group of 5 last night. Getting all the mats with the exception of Small Pieces of Blackrock is very trivial. The turn in drops are extremely generous and the rewards dirt cheap compared to the absolute grind of the last ToT.

Are you telling me that not even 5 people can be bothered to do the big main event on your shard?
Sounds to me like a shard that's just eating into the games budget by having a whopping 0 players, if I'm being perfectly honest.

its a typical UO responce. Dismiss a legitimate complaint . like  a bunch of Marie Antoinettes saying "let them eat cake".......

While we're talking about balance, on high population servers there are issues as well...

    • Ankou, too many ground bombs on high population servers. There should be a limit to how many bombs can be out at once.
    • Riftbreaker Construct, with the insta-death AOE, too spammy on high population servers. The best way to avoid the damage (deal with the mechanic) is stand still, but, it's impossible on high population servers.
    • Gnarled Veilkeeper, with the damaging brambles, again, too many on high population servers. There should be a limit on how many brambles can be out at once.

Could we look at balancing for high population servers while we're at it @Kyronix @Parallax

All I can say is that when people start running away from Ankou or Riftbreaker, it's best to crank up the Benny Hill theme.

On a serious note, you do have some warning of what's about to happen, but yeah, I know on LS when we run these two with a lot of people, things get really dicey. Not helped that some people insist on being rezzed nearby, and the timing always seems to be that as soon as they are rezzed, they are going to get hit with the bombs or Riftbreaker's damage.

You guys talk about this like it's a real video game, are you sure you're playing on Atlantic? Here are my experiences in prime time:

You stand around waiting for a bunch of gates to blow up. Exciting. You could technically join in here, but the bombs aren't free, so let the schmuck driving a flock of six gargoyles pay for them if he's so eager to farm.

Run around at random until you find everyone fighting a guy. You won't really see what he looks like or get any sense of what he's supposed to be doing, just look for the corny World of Warcraft name and struggle to target it.

Shoot the guy over and over until he's dead. You may randomly take damage during this but it's not very much, and not from any identifiable mechanic. Poison messages and other random garbage blot out everything on the screen. Targeting is the hardest part.

Repeat until you kill all the guys. There's one guy who just kind of blows up and kills everything on the screen, I dunno, to punish bots or something. Skip completely unless you're a psychotic hoarder who loves those grubby wall pieces. I throw them on the bank floor.

You missed the boss part.  Stand around watching the graphics.  Then the game freezes for a few seconds.  You unfreeze with 40 other ghosts around you, you all go to the healer.  Res, get your stuff, maybe go back and die again  with never seeing the boss.  Screen freezes again, you get the msg that you won and got a reward bag.

The event is still popular.  I am surprised about that.

You could probably start today and get 1000 points by the end.  Can I go to NL after this and get an Arctos and Juvenile Manticore?

I have one Arctos, One Emberwing, and 0 manti's not been lucky enough to get that drop.

Don't have that much time to play. I get about 6 hours a week during the Summer, if I'm lucky

Not sure if this is the proper thread for it...but since we are talking NL figured I'd give it a shot.

I haven't been able to find an official answer anywhere but after speaking to a few people on NL, it sounds like once you do an advance trainer quest line ( ie taming); you aren't able to do a "secondary" advance trainer quest line?

I wanted to make a "battle mage" so I kind of went all in on that path (advanced training resist etc) but for NL it seems like having poison would make sense so I went to get that.... I was able to buy poison to 50 but I could never find any sort of quest to raise it...so I was stuck getting a few gains here an there. Fast forward to this past weekend, I logged back on to NL (first time this year) where my Nox battle mage has 77 poison and is kind of a PITA to gain (imo)... I asked around about the poisoning quest and that's when someone told me that you cannot run a second advanced training via quest and need to work it. I had/have the same issue getting archery on my tamer...

If that's the case where we can't actually do multiple quest narratives once we use an advance trainer... a suggestion for next season would be to allow all skills to be quest narrative gained at all times. For starters it kind of puts people in a tough spot that have a template that maybe they don't want anymore and want to switch from "battle mage" to bard.

Secondly, I feel like the quest narratives are one of the main points/draws of NL This is not meant to be a shot, but NL very quickly became repetitive/boring and there would be several times I found myself waiting around for bosses to spawn....why not allow me to work a quest narrative and make a little coin while waiting in between bosses? Especially for new players who might want to try different combos based on non traditional Prod templates... like having a Nox bard... players should be able to do those quests to gain all skills to further experience what NL has to offer rather than making someone gain poisoning similar to Prod where I poison a bunch of weapons that I won't ever use.
