Quivers with Melee

I do notice a lot of people deck out their equipment with quivers even though they are using a battle axe.

Do quivers provide the dmg modifier to melee attacks as long as it is equipped??

The new quiver specifically says Archery.  So  Either the others with no qualifier work with Melee or lots have been wearing one for nothing for years.

Also some wear the Luck Quiver for the Luck. Or maybe for the 5SSI.

The damage modifier only applies to arrows/bolts.   but the other properties apply just like any other item.  so they all of their uses for pretty much any template.
Remove or change casting focus & poison immunity it reduces the need for "Player Skill" it's garbage. rant2 Bring timing back and eliminate chance in pvp!

Cool. I think most quivers have Archery damage modifier but I think a basic elven quiver just says damage modifier. I'll need to craft one to verify but pictures on uoguide seem to indicate that it doesn't specify "archery" damage. If so, I'm gonna equip the one I make and go hit something.

Ok, elven quivers say "Archery" damage. UOGuide has an old pic that doesn't say it.

This. For about 30m, the Serpent Skin Quiver for example, offers to any build:
    • +5 Anatomy
    • Luck 125
    • Swing Speed Increase 5%
    • Damage Increase 10%
All of these fit well into many builds. Cloak slots also tend to have durability when giving this many extra properties, quivers in general don't have durability to worry about. Proper cloaks also tend to run a much higher price than a lot of quivers. The Archery Modifier and Lower Ammo Cost is strictly for archery, but the Damage Increase property does apply to anyone wearing it as its a separate property.

Yes, the wording changed on all quivers.
I remember melee players wearing quivers for many years.

I thought I saw the new wording for the first time with the Riftbreaker quiver.  Now they all say Archery Damage Modifier.
I don't know if the old ones did increase melee damage or not, but that was the rumor.  Many wore the ML ones with no other stats.

Quiver of Infinity has 5DCI, I don't recall the cloak options back then.

    The wording changed after 2022.

Am I the first one to notice the wording change?

@Mariah has to change all the quiver wiki entries.

@azuldemogogu ; I think all the quivers with stats are pictured in this thread.  Like CX and CW said, any player gets the other stats, compare quivers to cloaks and choose the best fit for that toon.
I prefer cloaks for cosmetic reasons on my melee guys, only the one wearing a luck suit will use the Serpent quiver.

Jumu's is the constantly obtainable cloak that many use.

    Poison Eater 15%
    Spell Damage Increase 5%
    Faster Cast Recovery 1
    Damage Increase 20%
    Fire Resist 5%

It has 3 useful attributes for melee.
It was the go to mage cloak, also 3 useful attributes.  The last event cloak replaced it for magic users.

Notice a quiver can provide 5DCI, 5SSI, or 5HCI, maybe a player needs one of those specific stats.
IMO The Serpent Skin would be the most useful quiver for melee because it gives DI 10%, 5 useful skill points, 5SSI, and 125 Luck.

Don't all Masteries rely on real skill values ?

That is, won't using skill points on items for skills that one might want to use the Masteries hurt the benefits from using that skill's Masteries ?

None of these items have skill points associated with melee masteries.

Other than the Despicable Quiver None of the masteries use any skills on a cloak or quiver.

Archery is probably the worst mastery for helping with anything.

Many archers put a different skill to 120 and use its mastery. Like taming or bard.
