[Development] Share your suggestion in case there is an update on The Rifted Crown event

Share your suggestion in case the developers make an update to The Rifted Crown event (and take these suggestions into account)).


My suggestion:

Add (in case it doesn't exist, because I can't find it) a button to deliver all the objects of the event and not have to click one by one.

    I agree with that the "turn in all" button proposal for all ToT style events going forward.

    Speaking of clicking... For this event in particular; I wish we didn't need to click the explosive barrel 50 times and 50 individual bombs we need to find in our pack to throw.

    They could solve the having to click so much problem by reducing the amount of drops we get.  First world problem. I get too much stuff is an easy fix, you get less stuff.

    I fixed the barrel clicking for myself, I put a bunch on a steward and give them away for free so I don't have to click them at all.

    I really like how the event gives you rewards for participating.  I've got to a commander with just a tiny amount of health left and received the drops.  Also the Rift boss is pretty easy to get the drop bag. Even a new player could do these events and reap the rewards. 

    The city part is our favorite on LS.  The fight takes a good amount of time, it is very exciting, you see your rewards.  Most of us leave the area, turn in items, get ready for the next one.  Just chill with a smile.

    @mis ; this event is complete, there will be no updates, they are working on NL Shattering and the CC upgrades.

    It is not a problem of giving more or less items, one can stay 1-2 hours and get a large amount of items, for example 40.

    So, for those who have more tendon sensitivity due to repetitive injuries, doing 40 times in a row, apart from being completely unnecessary because you can create a simple button or option on the NPC, this causes tendon deterioration.

    That is why what is called accessibility is created in the programmes, to help and make life easier for those who have some kind of problem.

    I don't agree, there can be a mistake in something that was programmed wrong, from creatures or other details that can affect negatively and have to be fixed.

    You must be new to UO.  Only one dynamic event was changed after going world wide.  Treasures of the Fey Wraith.  Destard had a hole where mobs streamed in so we just stood there and killed everything. Changed in couple of days.

    This event has no minor flaws, much less major.

    The turn in all could be an option for a future event.  But I want to see my drops like I can now.

    I played Ultima Online for the first time in 2002, although I knew the game since its origin.

    What happens is that in the year 2019, playing precisely this game, I injured the tendons and although I recovered quite a lot, this kind of repetitions affect me.

    But as I said at the beginning, these are suggestions, there is no guarantee that this will be done, it is my suggestion and I think it benefits everyone, even time giving a single button and deliver all the items, as if they are 10.

    Suggestions for future events based on your first time playing a dynamic event.  Or something.

    Your urgent need of fixing this event thread aged like milk.

    Probably mostly possible with a change to the EC lua code, including also adding a filter in to keep the rare item based on properties.  Not clear it's worth posting such a change, as there still doesn't seem to be a way to aggregate the user supplied EC LUA changes.  Broadsword should setup a public git repository or some such.

    Asking for changes like this is perfectly normal, keep it up!

    It's not the first, you can see in my message history how I comment and roleplay Treasures of the Shattered Sanctum for example.

    Just a suggestion for everyone's benefit, click and deliver all the items, it saves everyone time and covers in health.


    But don't worry, forget my suggestion (because who should really value are the developers), if you have any suggestion for the benefit of the event great, if not, that's fine, that's what this post was for, for people to give their suggestion of the event.

    Yes I agree. Sad that the local forum troll can't help himself to comment some negative BS on every single thread, but hopefully that won't discourage anyone from making good suggestions like this for QoL improvements.

    I appreciate comments like yours, which support what is good for everyone.

    But I recognise that, after seeing the attitude of some users who don't think about the good of the community, but about how I can harm you, I personally have temporarily lost the desire to write suggestions, etc... because they don't value the work of others.

    And on top of that some have the nerve to say that everything is perfect and there are no bugs and things to fix.

    In Europe for example since the restart of the server the entrance is buggy, they broke the doors and there is the reset bar.

    I saw that in discord official a user reported it in general in the morning and I imagine that many of them warned the GM since the morning. But it's 16:13 and it's still bad, since the reset.



    That's why, to me, the level of shamelessness of some users of this forum, the inherent evil they have and their eagerness to destroy the community, make me honestly consider stopping posting here or reducing posts to what is fair and necessary.

    That is what every shard looks like for 30 mins. I don't know what you think you are seeing since it's second hand info. Cast a poison wall into it. It will look cooler.

    Ya your shard can also get a paragon healer at the dungeon entry that kills you after he resses you.

    Those are things a GM can fix.  Stop being so dramatic over the little stuff that affects 1 shard once in a while.

    another one of your ignorant comments, just like the one about whether you are new or if it was your first dynamic event.

    that bug was there for hours, not 30 minutes, stop talking rubbish, that's all you write, nonsense and write for the sake of writing instead of being quiet.

    My rogue characters respectfully disagree. The flaws aren't in THIS event per se. They're more like overall flaws in game mechanics in general that don't fully support rogues (and never have) in a way that allows them be a stand-alone character type, trained in their full compliment of skills.

    Since UO launched I've been an advocate for rogues. The PvP stealing made things really problematic and I think stalled progress for the rogue class for a very long time. I'm sure playing a PvP rogue was great fun. I'm also sure they were hated by the majority of the UO population and were detrimental to Origin Systems bottom line. 

    Since, some efforts have been made toward creating a viable and well-rounded rogue class by adding skills and content.  I love the rogue / treasure hunter skills that came along later. That said there's a lot going on that renders "new" rogue skills useless. I say new only in terms of them not being original. They're pretty damned old now, which makes it all the sadder. 

    Anyway, these skills are rendered useless because they're either, A. Broken, or B. Have workarounds that allow players to build a Frankenstein that pushes templates into something not really rogue-like at all, leaving true rogue templates out in the cold. I think this should be fixed and I've already said how til I'm blue in the face.

    Additionally, I've off and on (but forever) pushed for new life to be breathed into original content. We have systems that allow stealing from NPCs, Town Chests, Guard Tower Chests, Spawn Chests, what am I forgetting? Playing a town thief was a LOT of fun for a lot of people!

    Ever since the world split into two facets and the town thieves died off I've been trying to get new content that would bring those thieves back. Once upon a time you could make a good living off the junk armor and weapons that spawned in town chests. Of course the economy is so different now and gold is so easy to come by for many, stealing this crappy armor is pretty worthless for a rogue to make a living on. But couldn't we find ways to make that system of value again?

    I think there was sort of a half-assed quest system at one time that incorporated some of the town loot. My memory is fuzzy on this. But maybe we could have a whole-ass quest system.  :D  

    Maybe not even have to change much about what spawns in the chests now, but add a feature that lends value to those items. Have npc's that you turn items into to receive rewards. Add items an NPC wants you to steal and bring back to them. Add some other new tasty content, let your imagination run wild, tons could be done with this existing system that could make it fun and interesting again. 

    Isn't it time to add something more than the dried herbs and copper wire for rascally town thieves to go after? Give us a reason to use the Snooping skill again. Let us snoop and steal from NPC's packs again but have it mean something by creating content of value. 

    I've gone far off the track from this event...or events that will follow down the line. 

    I'd be really happy if (with no expectations for getting stuff I've wished for rogues for 20 years) you'd fix RT. Let us use the skill effectively so we can go on stealthy dungeon crawls and chest searches. Add protections for the rogue class that has Detect Hidden not working unless you've hiding and stealth, and are not at a run or mounted. And please fix the deadly incurable poison traps.
