Whats new in UO past 10 years on production shards?
Hi,
A friend came back to the game after 10 years and asked what is new in UO, what to hunt etc.
First I was thinking primers, and VvV system, but thats both over 10years now.
I started rabling with we had 6 dynamic events, 5 quests, 4 champ spawns but all that temporarily content is ofcourse removed.

So Id like to forward the question to the devs, what is new in game past 10 years?
He later went on to play on a freeshard instead.

For those who have returned from a long break and who want to learn a new way to play and new content, there is an NL server.
A bunch of new quests, new bosses, new encounters, easy leveling. Everything you need to get involved.
If a friend specifically wants to play with you on retail, then honestly, when I want to play with friends, the most important content for me is friends, even if we are doing complete crap, this is the most fun. This is true for any MMO because the content in these games is mostly a repetitive grind, no matter if it is new or not, it is about one thing - it is a grind. So friends and communication are the only important content in MMO.
If a "friend" does not understand this or decided to choose another server, then it is worth thinking about such "friendship" or "fake news" ?.
10 years is a long time, even 15, lets not talk about the snow that fell last decade.
@Grimbeard @psycho
The enjoyment is very relative in each player, maybe he likes to tame creatures and when he sees that he can add personalized training such as special moves, etc ... it can be, among others, a strong point of entertainment and enjoyment.
That for example if I am not mistaken, did not exist more than 10 years ago and personally when I discovered it, I loved it.
Anyway, you said or so I understood from the translation, that your friend got to play on unofficial servers, and unofficial servers, being emulators, have certain modifications that can be very far from the original system.
By this I mean, the activities that your friend did on emulated servers, when playing on the original system, can in itself, be a new discovery and entertainment for him and of course, enjoyment that he did not know, therefore, it is not only adding 10 years, it can be many more.
For me the key question is what does he like to do in Ultima Online?
Because there are players who like to be gardeners, other crafts, other role adventures, other pvp, etc...
There is so much content to choose from that enjoyment is guaranteed.
If he comes to Europe he won't lack any equipment, etc... he will only have to raise the character's skills and start his adventure.
So, encourage him to join the community, access is free. A world is waiting to be discovered.
I think the major ones are:
Shard bound artifacts.
More land (less players) for big housing
Less laggy for all shards except 1
ESRB warning: Some Blood. LOTS of Alcohol. Some Violence. LOTS of Bugs
You hear of High Seas? You hear about the taming revamp? Ever go to Eodon? Do the Roof?
Every good piece of armor has entered the game since 2020.
T hunting revamp.
The game is totally different for someone who has taken a 5 year vacation from UO.
You are a horrible spokesperson for UO.
Everything on the Cah website has happened in the last 10 years.

Publish 89+ is less than 10 years old.
Fighting pirates is actually to easy now that they don’t do damage to your ship
for better or worst for the rest, its been a mix of opinions on the tmaps and taming revamp/ changes.
At least give me elfs some pointier longer ears.
Also attractive animal girls pls.
Was low tide then.
That's why I'm hoping, especially now that the new game is out, their focus changes on permanent content with more of these 'tweaks/reworks', bug fixes, and reduce ToT botfest grinds to once a year. They're fine in small doses, but twice a year 3 month grinds is boring. It's sad to watch these free shards get more stuff (including bug fixes, balance changes, tweaks, updates, temporary and permanent content, etc.) in one update than the actual game gets in a year. I have also had multiple returning players end up on simply playing on free shards too.
What I think the devs at bare minimum should be striving towards (per year):
Only one ToT/spawn/whatever, coincide with a live story arc.
One big bug fix patch and constantly identifying/fixing bugs with other patches (I feel like bug fixes has been majorly slacking recently).
One update for something already existing content (dungeon/quest/city/whatever).
One update/rework of a trade skill or skill in general (something like the taming update, bod update)
One decently sized new permanent content (dungeon/landmass)
Of course these could all intertwine.
I will be slow to reply because I cannot log in/stay logged in to the forums.
Make this your signature if you are tired of Vendor Search being broken, over FIVE YEARS and counting.
Vendor search rendered useless after Publish 106 – Forsaken Foes on August 14, 2019.

Yeah, well, this is where I get confused. Because I don't get any 'inside information'. I only get what's available in publish notes, newsletters and, more recently, dev interviews. If someone would like to point me in the direction of this 'inside information' I'd be enlightened.
New content, we kill stuff, yes they make new places to kill stuff, or new stuff to kill. That is the content we have been given since '97.
