Town invasions not turning off VvV after today's publish

Just tried to do the town invasion in Jhelom on the Siege Perilous server. The town is VvV even though the invasion is present. Please update the publish so that it goes back to turning off VvV status of towns during the invasion.

On Atlantic, I only played in Fel because it's the only place I could even move

Vvv was never turned off, and I'd be chilling in town looking things it would start, I'd get no notification she just suddenly I'm being chased by a bunch of orange scripters

Yep, I did VvV while finding hidden chests :) 2 birds for the price of one, it's awesome!

Go claim an altar, go find a chest, go steal the sigil, go find another chest. It works!

I appreciate you guys jumping in to this thread but you are incorrect.

My post states that I am in Siege Perilous. Siege does not have a Trammel facet. For the entirety of the event so far, VvV had been turned off for a town while it was invaded. I have done over 2000 hidden chests on Siege so far and not once has VvV been active until this morning after the publish went live.

This isn't an issue on prodo where you have 2 facets invaded. But on Siege if I am using my t-hunter to do chests I am now required to have that toon go VvV just to search for chests.

@Kyronix Please make VvV pause while a town is invaded like it was before today's publish.

On Legends on day ~7 I had 2 cities invasion back to back that was under a VvV warning.

To me it sound like they "fix" the issue on SP if what u saying is correct and your asking for the "bug" to come back.

Maybe u should make a poll to get other Siege Perilous opinion to then pressure the dev.
So rather than recognise the effort the botters went to, to set all that up - for the benefit of the players, to help get certain items, something you could never be bothered to do, you would rather drag people backwards to your neanderthal world?

  • Why in the world would they turn VvV off in towns for the event on Siege? Seems a bit counterintuitive to normal Siege life to me. Leave VvV active is my vote.

Vic, as far as I know you are the only respondent that plays on Siege and you know that I've always been aligned with you when Siege issues are discussed. But in this case I don't think a character should be required to be in VvV to participate in the seasonal event. Many toons are meant to be PvM and built for that purpose. Requiring those toons to be VvV so that if they die (and they will on Siege doing these events) they suffer temporary stat loss doesn't make sense. But that is just me I guess. On Siege I honestly have done the whole event as a chest picker with zero VvV towns. And the 2000 chests wasn't a random number, I've done  A LOT. Changing the way the towns behave mid event seems like a bug or oversight, not intended. Especially considering it was not announced. But it is what it is. I can't really be upset at the devs when I'm so stoked about everything else they have done recently but I don't agree with this change.

  • My curiosity was why it ever happened to begin with. I get the thing about templates, but that is what soulstones are for. They and hybrid templates are a staple on Siege for this reason. Please don’t think I’m knocking your opinion, I’m just kind of surprised they ever did it.
