    Yes that is a store pet.  Which is what they call a vanity pet.  They can only be trained to 3 slots.

    The item the OP bought will turn an unopened store pet to an ethy.

    Making it transparent apparently is not an option.

    So, anyone who has been using these store pets would have to buy a new one to turn it into an ethy.
    Focus on what you can do, not what you can't.
