Getting Shard shields back

Wouldn't it be fair if you once got some shard shields for your account and you maybe lost them in an IDOC or something else that you could get them back for free? So if you once had them you can recreate or respawn them in your backpack because you already used a reward point for them?

How would you prove you'd lost them, and not just trying to get them for free without using a pick?

Pretty sure BS keeping the data of every shard transfer u doing on your EA account.. they does for regular character transfer token.. couldn't tell for the shield one, my accounts ain't 14 yrs old.

As for losing them.. don't the IDOC mecanics keep track of stuff going IDOC? BS did an event of players quitting the game.. so a few vultures can celebrate the game dying.. i'd think BS would do a minimum coding job for this heresy. (like knowing what's going to drop.. for their "affiliates")
So rather than recognise the effort the botters went to, to set all that up - for the benefit of the players, to help get certain items, something you could never be bothered to do, you would rather drag people backwards to your neanderthal world?

I was assuming that every veteran Item or at least every shard shield could be tracked back to the original owner. There has to be a user id connected otherwise the shield would work for every player. So it should be possible to search for shields with the correct owner id and replace or create new ones for those owners

There’s no vet reward that has any ‘respawn’ mechanic once lost under any circumstances. Yet OP suggests introducing this mechanic to arguably the strongest/best vet reward in game. I’ll give u an A+ for wishful thinking but have to respectfully disagree on implementation.

Sorry for your loss.  Mariah’s answer reflects the game’s culture on he part of management’s attitude towards it’s players.  Regardless of the reason for any loss that’s solely the player’s problem.  And, as the original purpose of the idoc was, and apparently still is, to scare players into paying their dues on time, I don’t see anything changing.

I would like to hear Mariahs opinion about my suggestion and reply. What do you think Mariah?

I think that is a decision for UO Devs, not a lowly forum moderator.
