Questline stuck

I’m doing quest for skill gains and currently trying to get all 70s so I can advance the quest line.
all my skills are 70 except eval int 63.4 and scribe 60.
Completing quest is no longer giving me any gains and I’m not getting them passively. Regs and gold very low and I’m almost at a point to where I won’t have any resourses to continue

When you say not gaining passively, do you mean you're actively using the gem on the skills menu to eval players and npcs but you're receiving no gains?
  • Yes using the skill on players, npc, etc also lots of casting as well as completing the quests. I was under the impression that each time you complete a quest, you should get some gain. That’s how it worked for my other skills that are capped at 70
  • To clarify, are you doing the narrative quest line or the other?

Are you doing the job board quests?

You have to double click the guy there to apply points.

Eval goes up slow and inscription goes up when you inscribe.  So it seems you are not applying points.
Focus on what you can do, not what you can't.
  • I’m doing narrative questline. Thanks, I’ll try the double clicking. I’ve never selected where points should be spent, so hopefully that’s it.

You should have quite a few if you have been doing the job boards. You may get 2 levels done.

    For others reading this:

When doing narrative you will get increases in skills from using that skill.  So, if you need 500 points to go from level to level, your skill will increase while fighting.

    Pro Tip:

For a mage, put points in eval and inscription first,  unless you are inscribing.  Eval goes up the slowest.  Magery and Med go up quickly.  (just like the OP's skills)

For a warrior, put points in Parry and healing first.  The other skills will increase faster as you fight. Weapon skill fastest.

This will allow you to do fewer job board quests and get to the required skill levels.

Your advice on a mage is wrong. Don't skill up inscription at all it is not required to progress on the main storyline then you have the option to drop it later.
  • Wow thanks for the help! I had 1000 skill points banked!! lol

Tamers can keep Inscription now.  So, I want it, without the need to do BODs.

But, good tip if you can advance without it.  Saves 500 points.

Hmm what else can I turn a mage into?  Could make another a lot faster without insc.
