Is there a player guide for UO NL, for verteran and newbies?

a general explanation of the unique rules and playing strategies for the new server will be quite helpful. ;)

Strategy.  You kill stuff or make stuff.
Focus on what you can do, not what you can't.

Be there when it opens to watch all the players running in circles.   :D

I'm pretending my guys from LS walked into a portal that lead to a new land that I will have to navigate.

  • Thanks Pawain for the very helpful links.  It seems to me,
    1) like the classic UO, a mage with crafting skills is a must to get started.
    2) Joining a guild could be quite helpful, there are some kind of resource sharing funcitons within the guild
    3) raise skill fast from the quest
    4) houses for individuals are limited to 7x7 and can only be acquired from doing the quests
    5) reagent belt and resource packs ensure that the resources won't be lost
    6) no insurance, items not equipped will drop on corpse

Everyone, please add more tips in short sentences so we can have a bit easier time to get started.
  • I assume there are no LRC items.  Correct?

    No LRC. Reagents required.

    A Goblin, a Gargoyle, and a Drow walk into a bar . . .

Never be afraid to challenge the status quo

You have to choose one of 3 paths.  Mage, Warrior, or crafting.  (Maybe a Bard class)

Each has base skills.  After you GM those base skills you can add other skills.

But a Smith/tailor/carp  can not get magery.  NL is UO Lite, get in skill up fast and get busy doing what your class does.
Focus on what you can do, not what you can't.
