Fan of classic 2d client? Want to see how good it can really look on modern hardware?
I am and have always been a big fan of this game's 2D client. Over the years, as we've switched from CRT's to LCDs, the quality of the image for the 2d client wasn't always so great. Much to my surprise, when I came back to the game this most recent time, I was happy to find that both modern hardware and the available settings in the client have caught up with each other.
For those of you who, like me, love crispy pixels, give the below settings a try, and you will see how great this old game can really look
Note - these settings require a 4k monitor, and your desktop resolution set to 4k (2160p, or 3840 x 2160)
In the game client - set game window size to: 1280x720 (720p)
In windows display settings, under scale and layout, set the scale to 300%
The end result is a perfect integer scale of the 2d client that fills the screen, and IMO, looks fantastic.
