"The terms of service are as is until officially changed." What does it mean?

This is last remark @Rorschach made before locking my thread on forum rules. It leaves me with questions still, so I need to open a new thread to ask:

What does "as is" refer to:

1) "As is" in the ToS written on this page only?
2) "As is" per the ToS written on this page with certain sections changed by rules outlined in acertain newsletters (sorry cant remember which ones exactly).

Any clarification would be highly appreciated. Would also rather have used the other thread instead of opening a new one, but it's closed already.

Thanks!

  • It is just confusing me since @Mariah told me the multi-strike system is no longer used, now @Rorschach says the ToS is in effect as is until changed.

Unfortunately I am not allowed to quote @Mariah though. Maybe she can repeat those clarification in public.

Rules regarding expected behavior are unchanged.
    The first rule being:

Please Treat ALL Posters with Respect and Courtesy.

'All posters' includes developers, and even moderators.
I find that most of our posters have no problem at all in keeping that rule.

Alright, thanks for the heads up,  but that does not answer my question.

I'm talking especially about rule number #12:

A multi-strike system is in effect for any user failing to fully comply with the rules:
    1. First Offense: A warning is issued.
    2. Second Offense: Suspended from the forum for 24 hours.
    3. Third Offense: Suspended from the forum for 1 week.
    4. Fourth Offense: Permanent ban.
    5. In severe cases the offender may be banned before making 4 offenses.
You told me in a PM (You said I'm not allowed to quote it), there is no multi-strike system in effect anymore.

@Rorschach however told me the rules are "as is" until changed. I read "as in" as in the written paragraph I quoted directly from the ToS.

So the multi strike system is still in effect? Was then information you gave me in a PM wrong? Or did @Rorschach just make a mistake?

(sorry the quote is not keeping formatting)

I've been told by one moderator that #12 is not in effect (in fact I got a 30 day ban some months ago without receiving a 24h or 1 week ban).

I've been told by another moderator the ToS is "as is".

in my opinion, you deserved to be banned.
your thread was closed and you started a new one.
And then after that one was closed, opened a third.
to me, that was like... three strikes and you are out.

I'm not so sure that I have ever read anything from you...
    that was constructive feedback.
And quite frankly, I wish there was an ignore button here.
Because I would rather not read anything from you.

I prefer to read constructive feedback and helpful things about the game,
not someone's temper tantrum because she didn't get her way.

    Shooting the messenger?

The questions I ask here are pretty simple. The particular ones in this thread even only arose from a statement made by a moderator on one of the other ones. Further I fail to see where your post is constructive, but ok.

I can't quote PMs unfortunately. But I've been told A in PMs and now B in public and I simply would like to know which one is the right version.

I was trying to convey to you, how your posts appeared to others.
You wrote a post and it was closed.
And then you wrote it again.
    And again.

It is my opinion, that the ban probably came from higher up.
maybe because you were warned (with the post being closed) and you chose to ignore it twice.

    I have been wondering...
    if you hadn't been banned...
how many times would you have reopened the thread?
And I have wondered it that's the reason you were banned...
And maybe that's why you didn't get the appropriate warnings...
but this is only my opinion.
