Question on Game Time Codes

I've always paid all my accounts by credit cards but was curious about GTC's as I see people sell them for gold on occasion.

My question is, can you apply multiple 6-month codes to the same account and do they stack?  I mean could I buy 6 of them and apply them all to my main account and it would be active for 3 years?  

Any insight is appreciated.

I once installed a 1 month code after using a 6 month code for a few days and it stacked to 7 total. Never tried more than that.

With my accounts i tried with 2 six month and they stacked without problems
