Let's talk detect hidden

Not the passive that seems OK. When actively searching I try a grid like I'm digging a map but it seems crazy random I can look to my south and it reveals a chest to my east where I had literally just searched

Correct, I have not found any logical pattern from where you click to where the chest appears. Also, re clicking a spot can also reveal the chest.

Yeah it’s super weird. Sometimes I’ll search at my feet and nothing. Move a couple tiles and search and it’s where I was just standing. So odd.

Yep, it’s whacky. Not to mention how it shouldn’t work passively at all for someone mounted and running full tilt.

I think that is because you (we) are failing to detect when you are right on it but the next time around you are successful. I think the only thing they could do is maybe give a message on a successful attempt of a spot that is the wrong location like "You reveal nothing but you are certain there is nothing hidden"

Kevin is correct. 100 detect does not mean 100% success.

+1 for a failed detect message

It could be randomly moving every x seconds.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
