Emberwing, Repetitive Gameplay, and the Need for More Content

Dear Community,

The game is becoming repetitive, especially after getting the Emberwing. Since there’s no real alternative, everyone is just chasing it—only to realize that once you have it, the gameplay loses its excitement. It all comes down to grinding for points to get the Emberwing, and after that, there’s little left to do.

The lack of content and alternative pets with four slots to add variety makes things stale. On top of that, class diversity is almost nonexistent—90% of players are tamers, while warriors, assassins, and archers are rarely seen. Introducing new skills like Necromancy, Chivalry, or Mysticism could bring excitement back to the game, allowing for fresh playstyles and experimentation.

I know new content is planned for spring, but what exactly does that mean? Another boss or two won’t be enough. The game needs more depth—quests, lore, and meaningful connections between events, not just scattered boss fights. Looking back, the introduction of new skills during the 3D era, like Chivalry and Ninjutsu, added layers to gameplay. Following a similar approach now could revitalize the experience.

Why not involve the community? A competition for players to suggest new storylines or events could bring fresh ideas, and perhaps even introduce a volunteer event master to contribute to the team. There are passionate players who would gladly help make Ultima better—let’s give them a chance.

We need meaningful content, variety, and engagement to keep the game alive. I hope the developers recognize this and take action soon.

only pic i could find and i'm not logged in currently. Maroon dragon and not sure of stats. @Pawain could likely ratlle them off from memory.

    A Goblin, a Gargoyle, and a Drow walk into a bar . . .

Never be afraid to challenge the status quo

Would it be useful on production shards?

4 slot dragon that does Fire damage, it works great in NL.

The 800+ str White Wyrm would be interesting on prodo shards if they could be trained to 5 slots..
Focus on what you can do, not what you can't.

I totally agree with you. There are a lot of points that make NL stale and boring. Its main focus is giving tammers some pets to carry to prodo shards. The crafter life is totally miss understood. The congiarium system is garbage and not needed at all. The sole purpose of NL it was screaming was 'join this new world of an old game and forge a new legacy, as a warrior, mage or crafter' and i couldnt make the crafter i hoped for. I really hoped i could make a crafters life, being a renowed blacksmithy and selling my hard to craft valorite katanas and it was never close to that.

About the rare items and such you will be able to bring to prodo shards i am not sure, but i cant see anything with the same value as the tammer pets. They really missed the point on what they promissed and what they delivered.

Specific about emberwing, it may be a good pet on production i think, but its main appeal is the fact it is a 100% fire dragon, with fire breath and inferno abilities and 4 slots. Also the colors they spawn are unique to prodo shards.
