Pet For Event Champ

What's everyone's thoughts? I ran around test, trying a Chiv/AI Triton and a FWW/poison Naj. The Naj had some issues with the higher level spawn, which may be mitigated by having more players. Issue with the Triton was a lack of repeated AOEs.

I have used a FWW/Chiv pet for all of these spawns.  First a Triton now making a bear.

Any pet works tho.  I did them on TC with an AI/Chiv bear.  Early stages let the pet get surrounded and kill the weak mobs with Chain Lightning, meteor swarm, EQ, Thunderstorm or Mystic areas spells.  As the mobs get tougher, get some mobs on the pet, lead the pet away and let him eat the mobs one at a time when they come. These spawns are when you can use your uncommon pets.  Dreadmares, Unicorns, Kirins, FWW/Chiv Bake Kitsunes etc.  Control your pet and keep him from being surrounded or he will go into a death spin and hit nothing.  The demons have like 5 resist.

This spawn area is nice.  Any template can pick an spot on the edge and kill stuff as well as they can.

We will be spawning it every 30 mins on LS when I am on.  The participation rewards are not so great.  Needed Cubes!
Focus on what you can do, not what you can't.

Not worried about it once it's live I see no point in having it on test for so long

I think the only issue with Chiv is the EoO. Obviously helpful for the bosses, but not so much the spawn.

EoO does not kill your pet. Pets have poor AI. They turn EoO on then turn it off within seconds.

What kills your pet is it being surrounded.  The pet will change targets before hitting anything.  The do a death spin and die without damaging anything.

Pet logic should be changed in a number of ways, but a few that come to mind relative to them getting confused/wedged when surrounded:

    1. In tram ruleset, pets should push through targets, like players do.  It's very strange to see pets get wedged on NPCs and monsters.
    2. In tram ruleset, consider allowing monsters to push through player pets too.  That may beef up the monster AI slightly.
    3. Provide a more obedient version of "all kill" that causes the pet to stick to the supplied target.  Perhaps if the pet is named in the command it becomes sticky, e.g. "FidoTheDog kill"

The super lazy and often times more effective approach to reduce the confusion/wedging of pets is to use "All guard me", then use EQ, Thunderstorm, or some area effect spell to trigger pet attack response.  Don't use "all kill".
