Repair Crate - Items Falling on the Ground

I helped a returning player with Orc Champion and then offered to repair his green armor.

I gave them a crate and instructed them to put their green items in it.

I instructed them to use the crate's context menu and select me to repair.

I agreed to the repair contract and it happened.

A few seconds later, I saw all the items on the ground at the player's feet in a pile.

I'm not sure what happened but it all happened suddenly.
