This hotfix is disappointing. At the least, the gold drops were paying for the insurance costs from dying at the event, and at best, I was actually making a nice profit from the gold drops.
I feel like this is punishing players on other shards simply because most people choose to congregate on one shard.
I would suggest making an Atlantic-Specific variation of the event were every shard the event runs as normal and Atlantic has multiple cities up at once to spread out the players.
The corpses are not the issue, it's having a bunch of people in a single subserver. Even EM events without corpses from anything are still lag fests.
If anything how about a compromise where if there are no corpses but the gold the event mob drops gets deposited directed into the backpack of those players that have looting rights?

Last night somebody on Atlantic was selling a drop from this event for 4mil a pop.
You can just sell 5 drops right now and consider it amortization of every loot until the end of the event.
If the event stays laggy on crowded servers, it will cause bigger problems for everyone. So I welcome any/all changes to reduce lag.
