Mystic netherbolt spell, unexpected fizzle

If you run at:
  • faster caster recovery 6
  • faster casting 4
  • protection NOT on
  • Mystic skill high enough to never fizzle

The mystic spell netherbolt will fizzle every other cast, if you cast at the calculated maximum speed.
You do not get an error message "you are already casting a spell", nor "you have not yet recovered casting a spell".

Desired result: spell should not fizzle, it should successfully cast.

    This also occurs with the first circle magery spell "Magic Arrow".

    Any news on if/when this will be changed?

    The fizzle never occurs with the first circle magery spell clumsy.

    I believe the problem as reported may relate to the (delayed) damage that is dealt by certain spells.

    Certain spells like Lightning appear to emit the damage immediatly, or almost immeidately, and don't suffer from this issue.  Fire damage spells tend to have more delayed damage, which appears to implicate the fizzle when casting back-to-back.

    it was a 'fix' put in place to prevent you from casting the spell too fast, which resulted in the previous cast(s) from dealing any damage.   as well as to prevent the use of magic arrow + nether bolt spam...   the real issue with that when it existed is that netherbolt caused 2 spell interruptions by itself.   once when you target, and again when the damage was done.

    However,  It's still possible to cast Fireball too fast for the damage to be done on the previous cast without the fizzle, but the casttime + delayed damage is very tight so, it's only really possible to reproduce this by holding the target with the first fireball, then immediately casting & targetting with the 2nd.


    I assume Eagle Strike works that way as well, but I haven't tested it.  lightening is the only energy damage spell I ever use.


    Remove or change casting focus & poison immunity it reduces the need for "Player Skill" it's garbage. rant2 Bring timing back and eliminate chance in pvp!
