ATTN: Devs List of Bugs with Pets. Please respond.

Hello @Kyronix , @Mesanna , @Mesanna1

I have listed the current animal taming and pet mastery related bugs below. Would it be possible to address them? For starters, can you please at least tell us if they are bugs (will fix) or working as intended (wont fix)?

This way tamers can have a knowledge of pets performance before investing hours in pet training and millions in scrolls?

Magical Ability Spell Name Bug Description
Magery Mastery ALL Pets stop casting spells altogether if there is no path to target. Then they only cast dragon breath every 15 seconds and nothing else https://youtu.be/scd97y7ZJ-A
Magery Mastery Agility Buff applies to target instead of caster
Magery Mastery Cunning Buff applies to target instead of caster
Magery Mastery Strength Buff applies to target instead of caster
Magery Mastery Bless Buff applies to target instead of caster.
Magery Mastery Fireball Pets do not cast this often enough it seems..
Magery Mastery Arch Cure If the pet is poisoned, it will repeatedly attempt to Arch Cure its target and not itself.
Magery Mastery Greater Heal Self-healing given lower priority, affecting recovery in solo and group scenarios.
Magery Mastery Death Ray Pets get interrupted when casting death ray, instead of continuous casting until out of mana.
Necromancer/Necromage Conduit Area of effect doesn't activate with pet casting, affecting group combat strategies.
Discord Skill Use Discord is somehow cancelled when the target was under discord

    Sure, can have a look at these and put together something for a future newsletter.  We are knee deep in dev & testing for both NLS and production so have no time line on when we'll have the bandwidth to dig into this.

    Thanks for taking the time to answer. We appreciate it.

    Looks like my pet Penpen will stay in the stable a bit longer instead of getting released into the wilderness. :)

    You forgot pet with spellweaving will sometime cast 'word of death' on itself..

    Wildfire spellweaving spell from a pet only damage tick once, after that 0 damage for the whole duration.

    I probably forget others, will post them here once I remember

    This is my bad, I dont have any pet that uses spellweaving. Let's keep adding these up. After the patch for the next event I will prepare another table with everything. Hopefully the devs will have time to look at these in the next quarter.

    Spellweaving Word of Death Sometimes pet casts this spell on itself, damaging or almost killing itself.
    Spellweaving Wildfire Spell only does damage at the first tick. Then it will not do any damage for the remaining ticks.

    Crushing Blow also doesn't deliver any extra damage for most pets.
    Sticky Skin also doesn't activate/work.
    Slashing doesn't give the pet use of Onslaught.
    PS: Would love to see a graphic for when Rune Corruption is applied.

    can add Bladeweave to the list also. If you add to pet it hardly uses any of the skills at all, and those it does dont do anything anyhow, so the pet just ends up doing nothing

    if you see that they do not fix the bug when publishing in General, try the Bugs section, so it is reflected in the corresponding section in case you need to add new bugs.

    All of these pet spell issues were brought up in pub 97.  They fixed nothing.  There are already multiple bug reports on these issues.
    Focus on what you can do, not what you can't.

    I have a super basic bug to add : if your pet is engaged with monster A and you tell him to attack monster b - he will attack once then go back to monster a.  Why? I’m the master. I told him to go after monster b and he should continue until either b dies or he dies.  This target switching is getting my pets killed.  I send them after the most lethal threat first but then they switch back to the original target after one attack.  I’m 120 taming. He should follow my command to the letter.

    Why? Because the other mob is hitting him! 
    Maybe try killing the offending interloper so that the pet can obey you without being distracted? How good would you be at continuing an argument with someone if a dog was biting your ankle?

    So if I get attacked by a caster I stop shooting at the current target?? This only happens with pets and should be addressed

    In Khaldun there are 3 archers in a triangle. Kill everything but them and have the pet attack one. He will go to it but stop when another one attacks him. The pet could stay doing this forever.
    Same as the death spin when pets are surrounded.  

    If the pet only follows a command:
    What should they do in a busy fight? Stand there after a kill and wait for the next command?  In the dynamic spawns you want your pet to be self sufficient in keeping alive and killing. While you are trying to keep alive and help kill.

    Use the mechanics and line the targets up so the pet can chomp them one at a time.  Be in charge of the battle.
    Focus on what you can do, not what you can't.
