Can try a few rounds of Medusa or Travesty.

The market is running low on slither Talisman and Travesty mask for magery.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Thank you,  this also highlight the problem I tried to show,
Theres alot of quest in the game (reference your list Mariah) but the rewards are so weak its not worth doing.

Quests can be put in 3 categories,
Quests that are there for you to learn the game and show you places
Quests that are there for you to achieve a goal (fame, karma, title, elf human etc)
Quests that are there for a good reward, such as items or armor parts.

In that last category theres missing alot of quests in UO, the vast majority of quests in this category is for rewards that are too weak to be used or outdated.

Since most of us playing this game have played for many years and reach an endgame content, theres no suficient quests available.

Now I didnt include peerless bosses like Melisande or Travesty as "Quests" its more like do it 300 times and hope for a drop at one of them. When they do drop something its the same as 15years ago, yes still usefull, but how about add something new item in addition?

The towncryer needs an update also, he has some quests but it doesnt say if its solo, group, what type of reward, or if the quest can be done multiple times.

Thank you, lets together improve the game
(Production shards, not the futuristic NL shard that will just be sooooo awasome and you cant wait etcetc)

You aren't alone @psycho. I'm in the same boat. I've spent more time on the forums than I have in the game for the past 2-3 months.

It really just comes down to us needing new content. It's unrealistic to think that the player base should be satisfied with 1 new event arc (ie Spring Fever) for the year when we are now mid-September, especially when we have dynamic events now (ie reskinned events) OR an older event could be turned on (ie Yukio / town invasions / etc).

My opinion is that we really should have a fresh dynamic event arc every 3 months and then have a 1 month break (they have the tools to drop in the dynamic events so why not?). That would be 3 events a year. As one event is going on they could be building out the next one (storyline and rewards).

I am hoping that we are going to get something fresh & fun as the 25th anniversary event arc so I am giving the Devs the benefit of doubt there as to why we haven't had anything else to this point. With the official anniversary date being just a week or two away now I guess we will soon see what we will get.

This is why I spend so much time on my boat nothing worth doing...now only they'd update black market and fishing rewards...

There’s a lot of quests that have you kill some difficult creatures and the reward is like 3 minor magic items…. gear that is far too weak for the encounter(s) you had to go through to get said gear. It’s a joke tbh. So I don’t really do quests in game.

A Valley of One Quest Chain – Ultima Online (uo.com)

    this is a fun quest

3 of the mini quests can be done solo
and the rewards can also be great deco
(i love using the fire in a fireplace, with the bonfire)

(the fire is underneath the ore... looks better in person)

    =========

have been doing these quests the last few days.
a couple people have been doing it for the first time
so we are hoping to get a tiger cub statuette or one of the tiger skin rugs

Quests that you do for RP purposes to lend-meaning to in-game activities. (I guess you might've meant to include that under "achieve a goal" but it didn't seem so.) Radiant quests in Skyrim, which can be done long after main action of the game is done, are an example. Sure you can go kill any bandits you want -- but it makes it a little different if you're doing so because there's a bounty involved.

Those are the kinds of quests that UO's existing shards mostly lack but, it seems, will be a feature of a yet-to-exist shard we hear about periodically.

The quests Mariah cited are, to my mind, difficult to justify doing outside of their original context and that context has long, long passed. Not to mention that the difficulty level is a little high for day-to-day gaming purposes.

The closest things we have right now that I can think of are trade missions (which are under-rated); the still-existing "capture raiders" content that one does for city loyalty; escort missions (but that can fit "for a goal" or "something noobs do to gain gold and familiarity with the map"); I guess the Huntsman quest in Skara (but that's a tad specialized); the elf quests in Heartwood and Sanctuary (but those seem to be designed around the rewards, not the experience); and finally the Ter Mur Royal City quests (which are under-rated but get old fast, and only involve the Ter Mur map and related dungeons anyway).

Now I recognize that that ain't nothing. In fact you may well want to explore some of those options if you haven't. But, still. Repeatable, basic quests could provide incentive of a sort to do existing content.

There is enough stuff currently in-game, and older content that can be reactivated, I think and hope anyway, that quests could be constructed around them. For example it seems like there could be county quests for certain raiders or certain brigand camps, or to kill a certain monster or type of monster. Also there used to be a "sift sand for artifacts" quest that seemingly could be modified for permanent content and expanded to other deserts (as it was it only applied to the desert in Central Ilshenar). This is the kind of thing that they appear to be planning for a shard that does not yet exist.

Except current shards, and players on them, currently exist. And I'd like to think I'm not the only one who'd enjoy stuff like this.

Speaking of quests, i tried the old gammon horn quest and it seems they forgot to update it's loot.

Almost all quest need their loot updated. That's part of the problem with doing older quests.

    Great example is Dread Horn:

You need to accept a quest to get into Twisted Weald. You collect stuff to fight Dread Horn. You kill Dread Horn. You go back to heartwood to "complete the quest". This takes about an hour or so.

The loot from the quest is just awful. Even the loot from killing DreadHorn is outdated. Special drops are Crimson Cinture / Dread's Kryss / Replenish Flute. The CC (probably the best peerless item) is now something you can select from the BlackThorn Rewards. The flute is just a replenish flute (no slayer). The kryss is +20 fencing / 30% poison area / 15 HCI / 50 SSI which severely outdated now that jewels have skills/HCI/SSI. So doing this questing, let alone repeating this quest doesn't make much sense.

You can not turn the Blackthorn version into a belt. Real CCs are not cheap on VS.
Focus on what you can do, not what you can't.

You can get the same exact mods from BT Castle. Not everyone wants an apron and not everyone cares if they can convert it to a belt; they only care about having the stats from the item. You can also get a VvV cinture for free simply by joining VvV (and playing in Tram).

Put your pom poms down for a second and look at the bigger picture; the Dreadhorn quest is one of a bunch that need updated to keep it relevant.
