PenNPaper, are you aware of the special moves associated with each kind of bow weapon? I think all of them are listed in the Mondain's Legacy section of UOGuide's Special Moves page. Each weapon has a unique combination of 2 moves. That said, I'm no…

Thank you for the informative replies. Thalon, I sensed that the attributes would be tight. That is part of why I asked if the build were "overloaded". The mana cost would indeed be untenable if he planned to spam spells. I see him primarily as a…

You'll probably want GM Arms Lore, as it improves the quality of crafted armor. Characters who want to craft-top level goods should all consider Arms Lore. Your template will likely be too tight to also add Imbuing, but hopefully you have another …

New Haven provides a good start for the majority of character types to very quickly achieve a 50 level in all their major skills. Some professions are excluded, such as bards, thieves, and fishermen. Most of those can buy skills in New Haven int…

Great info, guys. Thank you. If I didn't need a scribe on this shard, I'd think about trading out Inscription for Parry. It seems like it would be useful adjunct protection against weapons damage. I know that is what Wrestling is for, but Parry wo…

Feigr, I know about insurance, but thanks. Mainly, I thought the resistance base of 40 is pretty cool. Plus, on Siege Perilous, there is no insurance, and only one item can be "Siege Blessed".

Sable, thank you. Sorry I missed this when you first answered. Problem is gone.
-
Aroth, thank you. That is a nice benefit. Killed while hunting alone, and you get rez'd by a wandering healer. With just your death robe, you still have 40 resists!
-
Mariah and Aroth, Thank you.

Aroth, thanks. Nice template, but I think you only need 45 Music. It turns out that my question may be moot. According to the UOGuide Power Scrolls page, there are no scrolls for either Carpentry or Bowcraft. Is this info still up to date?

Mariah, isn't Tactics the main damage boost to weapons fighting, making it the analog to Evaluate Intelligence? I was assuming Anatomy would be a secondary damage booster, as are Lumberjacking to axe-fighting swordsmen and Inscription to mages.

Well, phooey. The last vet reward my guys have is 12th.

Was reviewing Chester and rereading this thread. I understand how the Telekinesis Spell can replace the Remove Trap skill. But why is Detect Hidden no longer useful for treasure hunting? If not useful for that endeavor, is there any practical use …

Ya'll are providing great feedback for all aspects of this template. Thank you! Concerning SwordofExcalibur's post: If the only magic were Chivalry, why go for a 50% LRC suit? Does LRC apply to tithing now? I don't think it used to. ("Gold -- the …

Very useful post! Thank you, Thalon. On a slightly related note, I saw a YouTube video last week. It briefly mentioned the ability to shop from multiple vendors at once. How does one do it? I run the Stygian Abyss version, if that makes a diffe…

That article is very helpful, Mariah. Thank you. Thanks also to everyone who gave feedback.

I concur.

Oh. Was it always like that? I seem to remember having to transfer gold between characters. ... and wow. Only 522,500 gold after years of play, with eventually 5 characters on that account before I let it expire? We must not have been addicted to …

I think Feigr is just making the point that one can over-help a newbie, which is true. He has probably seen it happen, and it is an important point to him. That said, I think Sable "gets it". She seems to have the experience and discretion to be abl…

Heh, my original mage, Paper, has never reached GM. He acquired a 100% LRC just before I stopped playing. He is currently gating around Trammel doing escort quests. Not having to worry about reagents is indeed a big help! BTW, he's a scribe too. …

Thanks for the info and offer, Kirthag. However, I don't have any characters on Pacific. Baja is my main shard, plus I have some advanced characters on Atlantic that might have had them.

Sable, returning. Baja is my main shard, although I have characters on a bunch of them. I played heavily from 1999 to early 2005. I haven't played much since then, and I finally let the accounts expire in 2012.

Thanks, DJAd. Your spreadsheet looks very useful. Just to get my character-tracking started, I've made a pure-text character sheet. It will at least get me started, until I or someone else builds something better. Any tips will be appreciated. Ac…

Thalon, thanks! It never occurred to me that I wasn't close enough to a banker. The character, Shido, has already moved on from New Haven. She went to Ter Mur and accepted the quest granted by the Gargoyle at the city entrance, deliver a Writ to t…
