If the spot is exhausted you'll need to move till the new one is in reach. Although for mining sand I simply start the character walking, following the cursor, and trigger the macro so she mines as she walks. I don't tend to exhaust spots that way. …

Unless things have changed, moving the pumpkins to the edge of the field doesn't work, that's why they're not re-spawning, and why people use goats and horde minions for clearing fields. Put the pumpkins in leather bags and feed them to a goat.
