It is what it is. We almost got something cool for the rogue class.
That’s overly harsh and it’s on my conscience. I’m just frustrated by player greed and would like better protection against it.

I’d like to see better development in terms of truly gearing content toward a cutpurse sneaky stealthy class of rogue. I’d like to see rogue skills working properly. And I’d like to see a more classic rogue class rewarded for the time and effort put in to training and using their skill set.

I still genuinely don't understand we want to steal but not have anyone able to steal from us

    What’s this “we”?

I guess you don’t understand the difference between PvP thieves and the system for these chests. Or how it would make sense to have these chests protected like TH chests are. And I guess you don’t get how there’s no recourse for the rogue whose chests are being stalked and pilfered because this all takes place in guard territory.

    Keep working on it, Dimbeard.

How do you know they didn't discover the chest first?

because you use the detect hidden skill and the chest appears. If there is no one on the screen but you...you discovered the chest unless they are hidden, in which case they would then appear when they use remove trap/telekenesis, as its so rubbish that no one can open a chest without getting poisoned or casting

the chances of someone hidden using detect hidden at exactly the same time as you is practically zero

Clearly you've never legit done these chests at all and are just trolling.

I feel stealing another players chest is a legitimate play style whether you like it or not

Except grabbing isn't stealing. And even if you're going after these ToT spawn chests in Felucca you're in guarded zones so there's no pvp that's going to settle any hash.

If all we needed to do is grab stuff then why can't just anyone grab items out of a treasure chest? You can't do that even in Felucca. Why should we need any skills at all for chests? Why don't we just have it so we stumble upon them and they're unlocked and no traps and all you do is open the lid and grab the loot?

Finding treasure chests requires training up certain skills. Finding spawning chests requires training up skills. Why should someone with zero skills be able to go after the loot in them?

DingleDoogle is trolling. He doesn't even understand how DH works to pop the chests. Uh, duh how do yaz knows dat guy dint find it first? ffs

I wouldn't expect him to understand just grabbing, with zero finesse or skill, shouldn't be the way to go.

You used to want consistency.  Can I open your Treasure chest?  Can I take things out of your SOS chest?
Focus on what you can do, not what you can't.

Ships have permissions. Which fits what Mariah suggested, let party members only, be able to open the chests.

This is at least the 2nd time you've asked this and not gotten an answer.

So, when things are working as intended, according to you, you are ok with inconsistency.

Good to know.  And I'll remember that.

How is this an easy button for the person who found a chest? They have to do the work and have the skills.

It's an easy button for the person who walks up and grabs items with no required skills.

So, you like or don't like easy buttons?

Do you hear yourself? What's easier? Training the skills needed for finding, unlocking, and removing the traps on chests while trying to stay safe in the middle of a heavy spawn of monsters that you're not trained to fight? Or running up to the chest that someone else just opened and trying to grab the loot for yourself with one hand, while fighting the spawn with the other?

Honest to God, you're such a ridiculous and nonsensical troll.

I see you only complain about inconsistencies that do not benefit your playstyle.  Got it.

Pro inconsistency - when it benefits me.

Against inconsistency - when it does not benefit me.
Focus on what you can do, not what you can't.
