It's over and finally publicly confirmed: the cheater clients have permanently and forever won
As we're all aware, the Broadsword devs, @Mesanna @Kyronix @Bleak & Co. had devised and executed a plan that whitelisted legal clients, while 'detecting' illegal clients.
They had cheat client users dead to rights: a perfect opportunity curb 98% of cheating by flagging everyone that logged in and then disconnected for using illegal clients. Later they could use this flag to issue their standard 24/48/72/perma ban. Despite a few rumors circulating on various discords no one seems to be able to confirm this happening... widespread anyway.
Instead, they decided to throw them a softball and issue a kick from the game every few minutes, allegedly due to some sort of packet mismatch. If it was truly a war on 3rd party programs they would not have been offered such a softball response. It would appear to me that they were too coward to go further when they had the perfect opportunity. This 'war' ended up being more of a, 'sucker punch then RUN' situation. Sad.
I honestly don't think they try again, unless they are more aggressive with their 'punishment'. At least I wouldn't as whatever Dev time they spent doing this was undone in less than 72h.
Congratulations, it's over and finally publicly confirmed: the cheater clients have permanently and forever won.
I think it's time to pack it up legitimate players. It's clear we're not wanted. Will be interesting seeing 20 ToT sampire bots trying to sell their items to everyone else that's running 20 ToT bot sampires. It's the direction the game is going.

However, if it's really an issue, yea probably better off reverting the change since either way it's done nothing to stop the clients.
