I only post here hoping higher ups see this because the direction they are taking uo is trash and the experiments they perform on the community is not welcoming to growing the community. I realize your a vetted player but we do not need to make you happy we need additional new players joining the community and what the uo team are currently doing is nothing but creating a divide among clients that does not accomplish anything other than building a larger divide among currently active players.
Thank you for the feedback. I have removed a couple of posts that violated community standards. Please be mindful of the terms of service when posting.
Ya we all hope they change the game to suit a guy that just popped into the forums complaining about everything.
Thanks @ Rorschach
I have been playing on and off for over 20 years haha, I am also a vetted player just like you. I started playing pre-aos when I was 8 years old. I am much more than just some guy popping in. I just finally could not handle the direction the game was going so I decided to voice my concerns as a person who will be playing for another 50+ years.

I really appreciate the personal attacks on my thoughts, I wish the rules went both ways and I was not the only one prosecuted for my words lol. PawainRorschach
not a fan either. not comfortable with giving my account info to an unknown third party. and then Discord on top of that has had large data breaches in the past.
if anything i'll try it on newer accounts that if something did happen wouldnt be a massive loss but not on my main accounts.
Broadsword does not maintain the third-party Classic UO web client. They made this clear when they authorized its usage. If you want to see changes to Classic UO, consider providing feedback to that team. They have an FAQ on their website which clarifies why Discord is required: https://classicuo.org/players/faq. This is highly unlikely to change.
Honestly if you're too worried about your "digital footprint" to go register for a Discord account that you're not obligated to actually use for anything else, then whatever, basically. That's too much of a picayune personal idiosyncrasy for anyone else to care about.
The next question gonna be, does Mesana receiving money from Zuckerberg.
@Lord_Nythrax Seriously tho.. I know people that won't create a tiktok nor facebook account for those specific reasons.. as soon u sign they get your authorization.
But yeah, it's an option no one forcing you to go against your morales.. in same time it feels like the dev hates legit CC users.. we getting punish.
So rather than recognise the effort the botters went to, to set all that up - for the benefit of the players, to help get certain items, something you could never be bothered to do, you would rather drag people backwards to your neanderthal world?

Hi Kroduk,
Broadsword finally authorized the use of at least one third-party variant of the classic client after years and years of falling behind community-driven innovations. Disregarding the “moral” qualms a user may have with creating accounts on one website or another, the change in stance comes in response to frustrations that a great many players had in response to Broadsword NOT modernizing the classic client, and I’d challenge you and others to see this capitulation as a nod to the criticisms from CC users who want a modernized experience rather than a “punishment” that requires a social media account — a requirement over which Broadsword has no control.
It is unfair that the UO Team offers advantages to players who use discord. I'm just asking for equality among clients.
The Broadsword devs don't even maintain the ClassicUO client, and if you want to communicate with the ClassicUO team the best way is... via their Discord server. Congratulations on making up a problem for yourself out of thin air, but the part where anyone else is concerned about it just ain't coming.
Yeah I understand the forum community can be small minded at times and only see one way or the other but is it possible to get some equality among all clients approved by the UO Team, instead of gating features behind accounts on other products?

The punishment is using the CC client.. personally this CUO client ain't an option for obvious reasons.. if I am to switch and wanna try the CUO i ain't going with the limited version.
If tomorow we finally get a sexy CC, we can push toward a clean UO.. till then do as u please.
I'm happy for people enjoying this new legit option, but to me this whole situation is just comical.. like very, almost surreal!

I'm not sure what OP means about disliking discord.
He doesn't seem to have an issue with discord when it comes to the proliferation of his own dark magics, 17 pages, 425 posts to be exact. But seeing as how the intent for using the webclient is purely to make it more difficult for people to utilize other client loaders in conjunction with the new CC to enable scripting, I can see why he'd be upset about having to adhere to such standards.

I have discord but but no social media and will not login with my discord credentials, but my family does not have discord and they are very upset you need discord to login to the new update. That is actually a copy of one of my old scripts for Orion in that picture haha, glad to see people using it. Above' is not my discord account though, I do not know that user. My discord name is Preliminary_Guest if you want to add me.

Then don't, who gives a shit? What, you think the CUO team is going to remove the Discord requirement because Poison on the Broadsword forum mumbled something about his digital footprint? Why are you even wasting pixels on this?
I do not care what they do I am not in control of them but I can voice my opinion and if you do not like it, you can continue trying to put me down but my position will not change in wanting equality across UO clients. No gating features behind discord logins please.

How weird because that user was posting all of that under your name ("Poison/New User" at the time). I'm sure that account just "got hacked" though.
edit: oh wait how crazy is this? and to think I thought you weren't "New User" either.
I never said it wasn't me I said Above' and tuco_r were not me. Then I proceeded to say I enjoy being popular, then you called me a liar. Are you retarded because I did not lie, you just misread the information presented.

A least they did not choose team speak...
